Whoever came up with their pre-season schedule should be fired. They're playing right now in Germany and have a game against United on the 8th. What the actual fuck?

They also have the Europa league and a manager in Pochetino that will place huge demands on them physically.

I know they love a late deal, but this summer they've made a profit of ~£15m on transfers.

If Kane struggles after a brilliant year last season, then they're gonna massively struggle

They're nailed on to sign Berahinho or Austin one minute before the window closes.

Austin would be an excellent buy for anyone. Surprised he hasn't moved yet, since the asking price isn't highly unreasonable in the current market. The price for Berahino now would be ridiculous given it gives West Brom a limited amount of time to get a replacement and they were highly reliant on him last season. Spurs though really surprise me not having bought a striker yet, since everyone knows Adebayor will be gone and Soldado will quietly go by the deadline for an undisclosed fee. They are really relying on Harry Kane not to have a second season slump.

West Ham all over Austin aren't they? Berahino to Spurs looks more certain I would say.

Surprised no one has signed Austin yet. I can understand several clubs turning their noses up at keepers, defenders and even midfielders. But strikers who have scored a lot of goals in this league? Should be flying off the shelves.

I think a failed medical a few years back may be putting clubs off paying the price QPR is demanding?

Bit weird that they've signed three players (might be more) who've failed medicals elsewhere (Austin, Fer, Remy). What does that come down to, different tests, some clubs give more leeway as to what they're worried about?

I was a bit gutted that we didn't seem to follow up our interest in him, but you seem like the best place for him to get good minutes. A good season at Spurs could get him in the Euro squad as well.

Do we think this is down to this transfer window or previous?

Or maybe a culmination?

They seem to be slow in the market this season.

(Maybe because we got our deals in early and they couldn't hi-jack them  ;))

Previous, they brought in Southampton's head of recruitment during last season.

Who knows what would have happened if AVB got Moutinho, and Levy didn't shit the bed.
Would have replaced Modric, which they haven't done. Mason ain't a CM, Bentaleb is nothing like Modric and the other midfielders. (Sandro £8M, Capoue £9M, Paulinho £17M, Dembele £15M, Sigurdsson £8M, Holtby) have all flopped at the club.

Did they have some players injured or something against United? The bench is very weak

1. Hugo Lloris
8. Ryan Mason (53)
11. Erik Lamela (68)
16. Kieran Trippier
28. Tom Carroll
27. Kevin Wimmer
20. Dele Alli Y (77)

Rose and Townsend were out, Spurs trying to sell both their deputy strikers. I think their bench lacks wing creativity and a striker, don't think it is very weak.

Will be interesting to see when Trippier might get the chance ahead of Walker. Walker is always an accident waiting to happen and apparently Trippier looked good already for them during pre-season.

There is 100 mil in PL next season for survival and West brom are gone sell their best player in the last days of the window

How is that a strong bench? The last three names alone would not be out of place at Norwich, Bournemouth, Hull, Watford, etc with all due respect to those good, but slightly lower done clubs????

Did they have some players injured or something against United? The bench is very weak

1. Hugo Lloris   - one of the best goalkeepers on the planet
8. Ryan Mason (53)   - future england international, already better than Joe Allen.
11. Erik Lamela (68) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kh5mboS_MM - need i say more
16. Kieran Trippier - solid and bundles of energy
28. Tom Carroll    - technically sound, nothing to write home about
27. Kevin Wimmer - i don't know alot about, but has alot of bundesliga appearances to his name for a 22 yr old
20. Dele Alli Y (77) - i really wanted us to pick him up, goalscoring midfielder, great allround footballer; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4S03Vdkz1c
Ali having Modric on toast; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcK8SMlGfdU
I'd say our bench against Stoke was stronger, but this isn't shabby imo

Joe Mason, so good that a centre back was preferred in midfield to him. There's also so many better English midfielders coming through that he'll be lucky to get more than a few token caps.

I think you need to say more about Lamela given that he's got 2 league goals in nearly 40 games for Spurs as well.

well we had Gomez starting for us, he of 18 appearances for Charlton fame, so you cant really wag your finger at them having Dele Alli on the bench :lickin

having said that i fail to see where the goals will come from Kane/Chadli/Eriksen aside.
if Kane doesnt kick into gear they might be left floundering from the get go

Ryan Mason was, by a distance, the worst regular starter for a top 6 side last year. He is terrible. Ask virtually any Spurs fan. "Already better than Joe Allen" is just a horrible shout, before I even mention that Mason is less than a year younger than Allen, so the "already" is a strange addition.
