Liverpool Tattoo Design
« on: December 7, 2005, 02:03:11 pm »
Have uploaded 2 design sheets to the Gallery for everyone who was asking for Tattoo designs of the RAWK banner, there is a layout sheet and a  colour reference sheet for your tattooist. Should be enough to get them done.

http://www.redandwhitekop.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-1347

http://www.redandwhitekop.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-1346

(cant seem to get the Images up here, if anyone wants to try)

Make sure you post your photos up when you get them done.

Cheers, Kitster.

P.s. still a few shirts left, if anyone wants one - will donate a percentage of each to the RAWK banner fund.

I'll take it without colours but put some red on scarf and ball. I'll leave eternal flame out of me tattoo and also the number on the ball cause when we won a few more it's not possible to add years.

I'll take it on me upper back! Can't wait!

Anyone any idea on how much that would cost to get done? Really want to get a tattoo done, but guess that would be pricey?

They look superb.  However, I can't help thinking that the 'L' on the scarf is upside down.  Is it just me :-\?

Being the end of the scarf it would actualy be sideways, which is the same as backwards.

Twist the scarf around visually in your head, its the right way up.. but backwards..

Unless its just the front L (first L of Liverpool) just showing through the scarf?

actually, if that was the end of the other side it would be a c, because the scarf reads liverpool f.c.

Just to clear this up....The L on the scarf is supposed to be as if it is one of those woollen ones which shows through the other side.

I couldn't care about the L but if the banner gets made and will cost a few bob, it must be right, try and explain when all and sundrie as alrady had ago at the cock up, from opposing fans bitters all.
The explanation about the old woollen see through, well YNWA would not have been written like that then, not picking and certainly not knocking the design, IMO its going to look marvelous on the kop, so just y imput on the matter.

Got this done at the weekend boys and girls. Now pride of place on my left shoulder (back). Took the tattooist 3 hours, and it was hard going in parts, but fuck me the result was well worth it!

Wigwam, would you mind saying how much it cost? I've been wanting an LFC tatoo for years and this is one design I love! Would be looking to get it at a similar size to the pic in the original post.

Phil - sent you a pm mate.
For everyone else, bit of info -

size was an issue, if you look at the pics as they show on the thread, the artist reckoned he couldn't do it justice, with the shading , medal detail etc. The size I ended up getting is the size you see when you click through the pictures and print. Even then I had to leave out the "YNWA" on the scarf and the numbering on the ball.

haha... can't believe that this would end up being my first post but seeing as i'm an insufferable pedant:

the L on the scarf is correct, as it is viewed from the back (presuming the whole word is read in reverse in this case).  but then if this is true, then the 'you'll never walk alone' is wrong, as that should be backwards too since it is the reverse of the scarf we can see at that end.

i'll be back at some other time in the distant future to comment on some other earth shattering debate but until such time i bid you all a fond farewell.

Kitster, your an amazing artist fella, but ever since i first saw this design i couldnt stop thinking, why have our Liverbird looking so angry, it looks fuckin evil. To me its not the liverbird and i think portrays the wrong image. Only my oppinion of course, but why make it look so angry. I just dont get it. If the bird looked like our liverbird, i'de be straight down to my tattooist and add to the 3 i already have.

A Liverbird is a cross between an Eagle and a Cormorant (not a dove of peace with an Olive Branch) as suggested elsewhere. Hence you would expect it to look keen eyed.
The muck in it's gob is seaweed, unless someone can tell me where Olive trees are growing on the banks of the Mersey.

As to the first L being upside down, it will be, as the scarf is bent showing the back of the scarf.

In my opinion it's the best NEW Liverbird since the John Moore's University version.
It's nice to see people designing their own version as against the same old same old.
I designed the one beneath, not eveyones cup of tea but I like it

I quite like that about it. When I heard of the banner project way back when, that's how I imagined the Liverbird to be on the banner- intimidating and evil looking.

Fair enough Baz, each to his own, of course. I can just imagine fans from other clubs here and in europe to maybe get the wrong idea, like "those nasty scousers" sort of shit. I think its a great piece of work from Kit but its deffo not my cup of tea. I'll get round to doing my own Liverbird one day, slightly less intimidating,i think.

excuse my ignorance if this is well known out there, but does the eternal flame have to stand alone.

I was thinking maybe the scarf could 'embrace' the flame, kind of symbollically showing the bond within the club.

Up to you mate, if you can get your tattooist to work it into the scarf, then go for it, I like the flame where it is, and it turned out very well for me, no black lining used around the flame so looks the business
