on-line games competitions (including league)
« on: November 1, 2005, 03:47:18 pm »
check this out

www.waterloogsob.co.uk

go to that site, register, then head for forums, where there is a link to games section, there are 100's of games and also an overall competition to see who can win the most 'trophies'  Current winner has about 33 trophies, but if we all took one of him he would be yesterdays news (haha)

I think it would be an excellent idea if RAWK had a games section like this site, steve?

anyway, check it out.

its ok denno mate, its virus free that site mate, they all run locally on the server and as a bonus are free from adware or usual crap that you normaly get with online games.

safe as fuck mate, the pc im on in work would pick up anything like that in a second, rest assured its safe.

enjoy.

i know the guy who runs that site mate and he has warned me off it for the time being.

Seriously you best check your computer properly because they'll be lurking in there somewhere.

As i say i've been told by the guy who runs the site to stay clear for now, i reckon that's good advice.

is that geoff mc, that owns that site?

its ok, I know you had problems a few months ago, he said that hed spoken to you about it.  Not being funny mate he didnt lke to say but when he checked our your pc, you hadnt run security updates for even windows mate, your firewall was turned off and your anti virus protection was not enabled, also you hadnt run seach and destroy for over a year.

I dont think he wanted to embarass you mate but the probme werent his site, anyway, he reckons hes explaiend it all to you now, but if you have any concerns with stuff p/m me mate but dont 'guess' things as it makes people nervous.

cheers

No mate, Mckeating doesn't run that site.

Never heard of him so what he would be doing poking around my computer is a mystery to me, if he has the cheeky little blighter must of crept into my house whislst i was out or something.

Pure mystery to who this Mckeating fellow is.

Fair enough mate if you think its safe then play away. But i warn you you will regret it in the end.

Bad news that site is, the sooner you realise that the better.

not being funny mate, but if you dont know him how come you know his full name, I only said Geoff Mc?  Listen Denno mate, we all make mistakes, dont be embarassed about it, lying only makes you look worse.  I dont want to embarass you on-line mate, so if you want to discuss it we'll do it by p/m if that is ok.

just forget about it, if you dont wan tto play dont mate, but dont go worrying others, I would NEVER push people in the direction of any virus mate.

mate

you said above you had never heard of mckeating, then you said you saw his name on the site, how do you know he doesnt run the site if you have never heard of him YET you have seen his name on the site, just dont get it fella?

Ive just been talking to Geoff on msn, he said you were still denying it was your fault mate, but please dont bring your disagreements with him onto this forum, it is a perfectly safe site, dont go worrying people otherwise.

If you had a private arguemet on here with the owner I woudl hope you wouldnt go dirtying his name and spreading distruths anywhere else mate.

The owner is Ged Kinsella of Brakin Design.

I believe you have been mislead by this Geoff Mckeating chap.

He's probably trying to get you to go on so you'll be virused, don't trust him mate.

You know have soem good protection mate, please dont worry about the web, if you are careful and know what your doing you will be ok. most people on this site are pretty clued up anyway pal.

I would never risk getting a virus to prove to be some type of rebel and I certaintly wouldnt do that to soemone else.

I honestly believe that your intentions are good, i believe your willingness to share games with your fellow online buddies is commendable, but i also believe that you are putting yourself and your buddies at risk.

Seriously Mr Dixon, i strongly advise you against using that site, you will dearly regret come trojan time.

I played - I regretted - I now advise.

Don't make the same mistake i did.

I just noticed that you are top winner of trophies mate, I dont suppose that you are just not wanting people to visit incase you loose your 'best player status' are you?

I cant beleive the amount of time you have spent on there considering what you have said about the virus situation mate.

At first I thought it must be another Denno, but the i/p address on the site matches the ip that you are currently posting with at the moment and the times clash so I know it cant be anoter member of your family.

but you have played in the last 2 mins, are you telling me you are so addicted that you would risk getting another of these imaginary viruses?  I mean if its was a few days ago I would understand, but to talk like this as you play, madness.

I will put this computer at  risk that i am using because it has gone beyond saving. (plus its works comp so i don't really give a shit)

But if you hold your computer dear to your heart and value it as a loved one, you would be well advised to stay away from trojanville.

I’ve subscribed to the times for about 6 months now and they have a competitions page which you basically enter competitions with a click usually saying you want more info on the company providing the prize .

Got an email earlier today to say id won a weekend at the Alfred dunhill cup with train fares  inc , tickets to the event , a stay at the five star hotel inc dinner , breakfast and a meal for two at the old course hotel dining club
