Milan Baros - 6: Proved a handful ploughing a lone furrow up front despite being starved of possession after the Reds' early goal.

Substitutes

Djibril Cisse (Replaced Baros, 60 minutes) - 6: Went close with two efforts at the end and held on to the ball intelligently.

Harry Kewell (Replaced Hamann, 73 minutes) - 6: Gave them an extra attacking dimension as they tried to close out the game.

Antonio Nunez (Replaced Garcia, 84 minutes) - 6: Had little time to make an impact.

Still, I think Biscan had a far better game than you suggest, as did Didi.

Just got in. For the first time ever I was shaking when the final whistle went! I'm only in my early 20's and boy does it feel good, I, like my dad will be able to tell my kids one day about the day Liverpool played in the European Cup Final!
And for that, I thank every single player, every single member of the coaching staff, and EVERY single Liverpool fan in Anfield tonight, you made me proud, you made my dad proud, hell, one day my kids might look back and said, my dad was there!!!!

must say that most Chelsea fans were gracious in defeat...maybe they are used to it in Europe.

They are like kid that had their first shag with the local slapper, sharon or tracey for the sake of argument.

Just watched Maureen on SSN (well, Thommo was following) and he's lost it!

Apart from repeating the "Best Team lost" line (so it wasn't a one-off) he's come up with the classic "Rafa didn't beat Jose - Liverpool beat Chelsea".

Bear in mind that all season it's been "I am the CL winning Manager. I haven't lost in the CL. This is my success" - very bitter (as he should be I suppose!)

And whoever made the comment about his appearance was correct - actually looked as though he hadn't slept in 3 days - ah, that explains it...!

Can't praise the boys enough for a splendid performance worthy of a place among the illustrious teams back in the days.Every player played a part in getting Liverpool into the finals and i just want to say thank you for giving us fans a night to remember for a life time.
Jose Mouriniho said the best team lost but i disagree cos i would have to say the team with the best supporters in the world won.
On to glory in Istanbul and honestly i don't care who we face cos in Rafa we have an astute manager one who will lead us to the promised land!
I've had the best night of my life and i 'm looking forward to many more!

I'm still high in the clouds - I'm proud of all our players, our manager, backroom staff and fans... just everyone connected with the club.

I am also proud of seeing so many fans of clubs we have met along our journey wishing us luck - that means a lot.

We have a great chance of winning this, it won't be easy, we are under no false aprehensions, but we have shown that we have what it takes to beat any club.

Frightening thing is, if the linesman had not fogot who was signing his cheque and flagged for the goal, I have no doubt that the referee would have completely ignored the penalty shout.

Fuck yes, we did it. And i stress we because everyone connected to liverpool helped tonight. I thought we dominated but gave the ball away too easily in the first half. That stopped in the second half when we brang on kewell and cisse. after that i thought we were very dangerous on the break. BTW how good was it to see harry challenging full backs again. I hope the old harry is back
