we definitely had the better of the play, but that all-out assault is impossible to sustain for an entire 90 minutes, got to be a bit more canny in the 2nd half.

two fab goals, and could have had several others, but before we start booking the trip to Turkey, if Zlatan doesn't hit the post, Carson doesn't make a top-notch save, and/or the assistant ref doesn't give us a huge helping of the benefit of the doubt on Del Piero's offside before the header, it's a different game entirely...

Le Tallec faded a bit after a promising start, Stevie G. is playing very well and passionately, we look well organized in back, maybe Milan can get a precious third in the second half...

come on Redmen...
Since haste quite Schorsch, but Liverpool are genuine fight pigs...

important to keep the pace. garcia having a screamer of a game:D gerrard as usual driving the team on. play more short and quick passes instead of long balls. baros should look for his team mates instead of going it all by himself.

An interesting thing to note:

Zonal marking would have prevented Hyypia's goal, had Juventus used that system. Zebina lost Hyypia, and Sami scored from an area of the pitch where, if Rafa's team was defending, someone would have been positioned.

The failings of man-to-man marking.

just have to keep the pressure on now... they'll be getting a blistering in the dressing room , and we CAN't let them back in by playing cagily... everyone has to get stuck in again from the off and keep them worried about us scoring, that is bloody vital. 1 goal for them will change the tie completely... got to keep this up for the whole 45, just bloody got to.

Juve have shown flashes of brilliance and we HAVE GOT to keep hastling them. COME ON REDMEN!

does any one knpw if Hamman will be back for Turin. Imagine that Hamman and Alonso in the middle, with Stevie just behind baros. If we are 2-0 up fromt the first leg, i think we'll coast to the semis

Well at half time i am wondering if i am supposed to be in the pub watching this instead of at home as i am sure this is a drunken fantasy.

Garcia lost the ball a couple of times but overall (forgetting his awesome goal) he has played well.

Gerrard and Biscan are in total command in the middle of the field.

Both left and right sides look pretty solid both going forward and defensively. Traore having an excellent game.

Carson is playing like a keeper 10 years his senior tonight.

Carra and Sami.  Need i say more?

ALT putting himself about fairly well altho looks a little rusty. Made a couple of nice runs only to have the ball passed to other players. Rustiness to be expected really.

Baros has been a dynamo up front. Every time he gets the ball he looks dangerous and i bet Thuram is hating him. As far as sheer effort my man of the match so far.

Juve still look dangerous though. One off the post, an excellent reflex save from Carson plus a bad call on the off side means we have been riding our luck a little bit.

Referee has had a good game in my opnion so far. Allowed play to carry on a couple of times rather than stopping for silly and minor infractions. 3 bad decisions ( 1 offside each and a Goal kick/Corner/goal kick/Corner ) have all been made by the linesmen not the ref.

Cracking game... i just hope it continues in the same vein and we get a couple more :D
Famous words of wisdom:

If you're in the penalty area and aren't quite sure what to do with the ball, stick it in the net and we'll discuss your options afterwards!

I always said we had the best two teams on Merseyside... Liverpool and Liverpool Reserves.
