The second goal you just know we can score it much more often if we focused.

great tempo and everyone really up for it. At half time thought it was going to be another 0-0 or 0-1 but we kept at it and scored some really nice goals.

That said we gave away two shite goals and let them back into it far too easily. Also not sure why Jota didn't just finish it but couldn't see on the shit stream if he was knocked off balance or not.

Love that intensity from everyone though.

Salah……crap in the first half but world class in the 2nd. MOTM.

Mac was excellent as was VVD and Gomez.

XG of 7.2 is crazy and only scoring 4 was, in a way, not great. Pressure and performance was very good.

Salah’s pass to Jota who then makes a sublime pass to Jones to score.
Jota’s penalty did look a bit suspect but he was caught and was off-balance which you could argue stopped him slotting it home.
Nunez is a bit of a worry as he needs to put more chances away. Newcastle had 3 chances max and scored 2.

At this stage winning is all that matters and we were by far the better team tonight. Apart from our finishing that was one of our best games.

A bit chaotic that game but the goals came from lovely passes and good finishing. Not going to mention a certain commentator, just toasting a hard earned win, being top of the League and having a cushion.

It's a team game! Szos, Nunez and Diaz tired them out and we sent out Grav, Cody and Jota to finish them off! Seems like we worked on new final 3rd interplay to open up packed defenses. The 1st and 2nd goal were almost carbon copy of each other. Dubravka had a great game. It took a mishit by Cody to completely throw him off. That pass by Mac to Jota was insane. And how they were debating if it was a pen or not is just crazy. He could have walked it in if he was not tripped you muppets.

Great win and 3 clear at the top!

People were understandably unhappy in the HT thread. But that first half was different to previous games. Yes the finishing let us down in first half but we were playing too well and were creating too many good chances to not win. Really great performance.

Just a mad game all round. 0 goals at HT when there should have been 3, 6 in the 2nd half. We must have had 35 shots to their 4, and it needed a late pen to settle the nerves.

I thought we were great but a bit 13/14 great rather than the 2018-2020 era as the game was far too chaotic. At 3-1 you've got to be able to manage the game, same at 1-0 when you've worked so hard to get the breakthrough and then give a silly goal away.
