It feels like this season's had a huge rise in red cards per game. Is there somewhere i could look that up, some sort of stats keeping website?

On a different note, Spurs might finally revert to type now. Van de Ven should be out for a few weeks, Romero banned for three games, Udogie suspended for another one, didn't Maddison go off injured as well?
The change is cast

Chelsea can take their momentum into their match v City on the weekend.

Could be City's easiest game of the season to be honest.
Soccer - let's face it, its not really about a game of ball anymore is it?

That was tactical naivety at it's finest. Compare that to the way we played when we went down to 9 vs Spurs, and they had nothing until the last minute own goal from a fuck up that Matip clears 9 times out of 10.
I remember Klopp getting hammered for his supposed tactical naivety/stubborness when we conceded four goals to Man City after Mane had been sent off.  I wonder if the darling manager of the darlings of the London media will get the same treatment.

We play a high line with 11 and I lose count of the commentators and pundits that criticise when we concede, even if the goal is inconsequential to the result.

Spurs go down to 9 and play an ever higher line against a team which can't hit a barn door, ship 4 goals, and are fucking heroes?

The fuck is this shit :lmao :lmao :lmao

This.

These ex players are all idiots seem to have a competition to find the biggest dipshit.

Honestly think ex players who do National league and EFL games much better

There aren’t quite the words to describe my hatred of Spurs, I think it’s their fans delusion that they are some sort of footballing powerhouse which boils my piss.
Never seen him playing I think. But looks like a good player.

Karma for the spuds haha

Not even karma really, if anything they should have been down to 9 much sooner.

One slight bit of karma is that the first Romero red card wouldn't have also been a penalty, but the second was, so if the ref had given the first it might have actually helped them.

Wolves, Villa, City, West Ham and Newcastle in the next 5 for them too. 2 defeats at least in there for them by my reckoning, if not more.

Worst performance against nine men you will ever see in your life. Spurs were absolutely abysmal too, until they realised around 80 minutes that Chelsea were actually falling over themselves to let them back in the game. One of the craziest games you'll see and neither side deserves any credit.

Yeah if they are one of the 2 best performing countries in European competitions. Think it could be 7 if the CL and EL winners were outside that as well

weird tactic not just because of the high line, but because every single player is in one line instead of at least two lines (so someone might pressure the ball)

Ask Colin Wanker. The twat got a game abandoned years ago didn’t he. West Brom v Sheff Utd. Think it needed 4 reds? Or maybe they also used all their subs and claimed no one was fit to continue. Can’t quite remember now but it was 2002, the game got abandoned but I think awarded to West Brom afterwards.

I bet on a game in Barbados about 7 years ago. Was making hundreds from it in-play. One side kicked off with 8 men and by half time were 14-0 down. They claimed they had 2 injuries and therefore the game was abandoned and most of my bets got voided  :butt

Of course Carra would say that it was almost genius! If they’d have won maybe you could make an argument if they’d been playing City or something but they lost, so it wasn’t genius - it was stupidity against a team that would have struggled to score if they’d sat in.

Did it make for an entertaining game though, sure!

There was no bad luck about it.

Two deserved red cards.

And both players who got reds should've had them earlier.

The one part of the game Spurs deserve credit for is from 80 minutes until it went 3-1. There, they seemed to sense that Chelsea were actually there for the taking and they went for it. Prior to that though, they were absolutely appalling and it should've been 5-1 by about 70 minutes.

Spurs only had good luck in this game, can't complain about anything. Though let's see if the fat flavour of the month has a whine anyway.

lmao I have been laughing at this game for 20 minutes straight or so. It's like a competition of who is more shit.

Really Ange? That's how you play with 8 outfield players? Or maybe he's actually a genius that he saw Chelsea were gonna do fuck all against that suicidal high line (and Chelsea almost fucked it up too).

Also I bet Spurs fans are gonna do some mental gymnastic with that Romero red card. "He got the ball".  Well Curtis Jones got the ball too and you guys said it was def a red didn't you?

In many ways this game is almost identical to our game earlier, even down to the second red. Well except that they played at home, didn't get any goal wrongly disallowed, and played with a hilariously stupid tactics after being down to 9 men.

Just occurred to me amidst the laughter that it would be proper embarrassing if we didn’t finish above both of these (and Man U).

The narrative that Ange/Spurs fans should be proud of that performance is genuinely unhinged. Like completely divorced of reality. Spurs committed 4 red card offences and shipped four goals at home to honestly one of the worst teams in the league. No-one gave us our flowers for the most narrow of 2-1 defeats, away from home, with last minute OG having conceded next to no chances cos they were too busy wanking off Spurs but they concede a hatful of easy, easy goals and Chelsea miss 3-4 sitters and it's Ange's plucky boys? If Chelsea were not littered with braindead footballers, that would have been 6 or 7.

On the evidence of this game, Chelsea are in for a world of pain - City, Newcastle, Brighton, Utd, then Everton away could genuinely yield 1 or 2 points if they're lucky based on that performance. They are such a poorly coached side, with no identity and (unsurprisingly) no cohesion. A bunch of young lads with zero footballing intelligence and scarcely more talent.

Spurs are in such an undeserved position, but let's see how they cope with 3/4 of their back line missing at the weekend (they're incredibly lucky Udogie only has a one match ban and not 3, another farcical refereeing decision going their way). They've got a tricky run of 5 now too - missing their two CBs for three of them (and presumably longer for VDV). Wonder if Ange sticks with that high line without him. They ain't shit though, and now that the bullshit aura has been broken, I could see them dropping out of the top four over the coming weeks.
