I swear I’ve seen Sterling have this exact game year on year, looks like he can barely kick the ball and just spends the entire time he’s around the box looking for a pen.
AHA!

Reminded me of Pickford against Newcastle when he went behind the line trying to save a shot.

Tierney and Taylor stopped us getting 3 easy points there, the dubious offside where Tierney lined it up on the wrong Chelsea defender and the blatant penalty.

We have them at home in a couple of weeks. Score first and in the first half and we should be ok. They’re lacking in talent in some areas but are always resilient and well organised.

Really good reading of the game, seems to always be able to buy himself that extra yard and spot the correct pass early

Even in this dysfunctional Chelsea side he's creative

There's only so much improvement he can make though - they'll have more attacking threat but still have bad attackers playing with N'kunku. The Defence will still be poor. The Goalkeeper will still be shite.

I am also still waiting for Fernandez to show that he's apparently magnificent, and Caicedo looks so far like a midtable defensive midfielder. The midfield could improve but they've shown no signs of it so far

Yeah agreed, they still have a lot of dross all over the field.

I also agree on Fernandez and Caicedo. Pretty average so far.

Brentford seem so committed to playing out the back they are perfectly happy with gifting Chelsea the ball 30-35 yards from goal (I think theyve done it like a dozen times already). If they do that against us it could be a cricket score

So second over the ankle foul by caicedo only ends up in a yellow! Where was VAR sending the dumb cheat Hooper to look at a 10 minute still of caicedo smashing ankles? Both Comms fail to realise it's same ref shock.

Not sure how much he can to do be honest but he can't be worse than Jackson. It's a mystery that they've spent so much money and a young lad who got double figures once with Villarreal is their starting striker. Nkunku scored plenty for Leipzig but they play really attacking football and prem defences will be a lot tighter. Think this season is a right off for him and Chelsea anyway, they won't get European football.

They should have went all out and tried to sign Osimhen IMO if they just wanted a quick fix.
