I wonder if Brighton win the league with like a bottom 5 wage bill and being the only PL to make a profit on transfers (and a large one at that) in the last 5 years what kind of changes we'll see. If it'll be a moneyball moment where the whole league will have to start taking analytics seriously and start throwing their scouts out. Or if there'll be "analytics is ruining football" takes from within.
It should have already happened, of course, but football clubs are so conservative in strategy compared to American sports clubs that are run much more like competitive businesses.
*They don't even need to win the league in fact, just take top 4, out performing teams spending £100m+ each window.
