Sir Michael Parkinson: Chat show host dies aged 88.

Decent bloke, great interviewer too.

Little known fact, he was one of the original backers of the ANL.

An icon for some of the older members. His interviews with Ali and Billy Connolly were legendary.

RIP sad news.

There were a few of his shows on iplayer, not sure if they are still on there. Saw one with Peter Ustinov and another with Kenneth Williams, was brilliant tv. Proper chat shows.

Think I last saw him on Graham Norton a few years back and he was by far the most interesting guest on there.

Sad news. The best British chat show host ever, in my opinion. He set the template for those that followed.

His Saturday night shows in the 70s were 'must see'. Top quality stars seemed to line up to appear and refreshingly not always because they had something to 'sell'. Some iconic moments and interviews. And of course he championed the young hairy Scottish comedian that non of us had ever heard of. Whatever happened to Billy Connolly?

RIP Michael

The one with Freddie Starr and Muhammad Ali, when Freddie put the shits up Ali with a scary story, was one of the funniest I ever saw.

He was a great interviewer.

Met him briefly a couple of times, really didn’t like him.

Remember the time he had Paul McCartney and Cilla Black on. He didn't have to say anything - just two auld scousers talking about local music shops and chippies, and only Liverpudlians knew what the hell they were talking about.

RIP Parky.
I don't always visit Lobster Pot.  But when I do. I sit.

Sir Michael Parkinson - 88

Not really an actor but a giant of TV.

I had the joy of making his daily coffee one summer when he and Mary came for their yearly trip.

Lovely man.

Just watched what Parky called his best ever interview with Dr Jacob Bronowsky..wow, recommend to all but it's a tear jerker. On catch ups etc.
