They're a results machine, never really been great to watch. Everything is quite predictable and to a script, but they were good last year, the idea is you peak in the run in, especially after number of games they had the season previous.

A worse possibility might be that it wasn't until the second half of the season that their side adjusted to playing with Haaland as the main striking option, while he was obviously scoring plenty early on their side looked more vulnerable against a number of sides if they didn't get their usual early goal.

I disagree I think he’s a very proficient 6, his range of passing keeps him from being in the same bracket as a Rodri for example. Sorta Gareth Barry level… which is a decent cog in a decent team - certainly not spectacular, will rarely be the difference in winning a game, but helps control it.

Probably not even worth half his price tag. Could have been a solid replacement for Fabinho, certainly not at that price and Fab at his best was far more composed.

Wouldn’t have wanted to see him replace Hendo, a lot of criticism of Hendo was how lacking in tight space, agility and ability to open his body up and move between the lines - Rice would have been even more ‘clunky’

Be good to see him in the CL to get a better measure, hasn’t looked out of place for England - but I’m saying that he’s also never looked like really imposing himself in those games either to be a difference maker. He did start showing some of that for West Ham in their UEFA conference whatever it’s called.

Big slice of luck from Arsenal. They’ve been rubbish against a City side who look half arsed.

My hot take is that Havertz and Rice don’t improve them much. Havertz is a bit of an ego signing from Arteta and has the same glaring deficiencies that he had at Chelsea, and Rice is a very overrated player who I think will end up being seen as a big fish in a small pond type.
