So much to say about that. First, all those in the transfer thread writing off big Joel without a thought to his magnificence over the years, and all because of a mid-season dip in form (he was hardly on his own). Where will you find a free transfer - let alone a CB for a fee, comparable with and without the ball?
The same (prematurely written off) can be said of TAA - my personal MoM. The lack of balanced judgement, and knee jerk reaction, is so prevalent on these boards, the effect is like a snowball going downhill; it becomes accepted and unquestioned truth. Ditto Fabinho; has he lost some pace - acknowledging he had little to begin with? Unquestionably. But he is still a very accomplished footballer, with and without the ball, and is his demise, once again, overblown? In my opinion, yes.
However, it has to be said that the three stalwarts whose form compared to their pomp has dropped significantly, are Hendo, Robbo and Mo. They have been key to our success over a long period, but currently are not contributing what they once did, however you paint it.
