Experts Joe & Carlton Cole have been waffling on saying it's a blatant penalty. ;D

Jones, to my mind, is as important to this new way of playing as Trent - kept the ball brilliantly, pressed well. Has a HUGE part to play in our new midfield group next season.

Gakpo continues to showcase that he was not a knee-jerk signing. He showed signs of playing the false 9 in the world cup, & he's proven such a quick learner. He's playing the position as if he's always played it. His hold-up & link-up play immensely helps this system and our ability to make the pitch small, own the midfield, & keep possession.

The Diaz & Thiago subs were brilliant. Their combined technical prowess helped us keep & "rest" with the ball. I especially loved our control when those two joined the fray.

Nunez struggled when he came on, I thought. He tries hard at times, trying to play to the fans' obvious love for him. As he struggles with his press, hold-up & link-up play, he will remain a sub, I'd expect, especially since Klopp has Gakpo, Jota, & Diaz who have the ability to press well + have the technique to ensure we keep the ball when we need to.

Three wins in a row. Keep rolling.

Yes Gakpo really is showing to be an excellent find for false 9. I don't think he is fully bought into it either. Im sure i saw some quotes on that. If Klopp can settle his mind that his future can be there I think he'll go from strength to strength.

They've got to go to a wounded Spurs, Brighton and West Ham, plus Villa at home in their last 8 games, can see them dropping points in all of them games.

But a cushy last three. Bournemouth away, Chelsea and Fulham at home. I think it is more likely we catch Newcastle, as odd as that looks at the moment. They finish with a bunch of relegation scrapers that will be fine with a point.

The future is very very bright. No point in picking apart the warts and flaws in a training camp game, except for noting where it points out that the future is very very bright, and that in the present we won away with near domination albeit a close scoreline and plenty of room for improvement.

But seriously if you cant see a new brilliant team forming up you gotta either squint or get glasses. The youth in this squad is just off the charts. imagine if it was tchoumeni bustling about the mid and so on, and we tried. we grab up a young modern day high energy midfield pair, look out world.

This was always my biggest problem with FSG, we weren't a million miles away even in our bad form for large parts of this season, i maintained just a couple tweaks which wouldn't be incredibly expensive relative to what some of our rivals spend, was enough, an athletic midfielder here and there, people were acting like we needed 6-7 changes when the reality is we only need 2-3. This is actually why i've been so upset with them, the realisation that only a couple more risks being taken would have had us competing for everything again, instead we probably won't make CL for next season and our set back 1-2 seasons from our absolute zenith.

Let’s not forget that BT use Peter Crouch (Liverpool) and Carlton Cole (West Ham) and balance it with an ex-player from both teams. No bias there then!!!

Cant see us catching them although dumping them out of the CL after listening to the Alex Ten Haag love in would just about make up for this season.

Good performance that!

West Ham can cry all they like about the non penalty, but they where outplayed comprehensively.

Deserved win for the Reds!

Exactly.

Gakpo’s looking very good, Diaz and Jota are back, and Salah won’t be dropped. Nunez has some work to do

The absolute whingeing both on the pitch and from the sidelines was ridiculous. It was never a penalty in a million years and the offside was clear. You'd swear they'd had chance after chance (can only think of one chance they had in the second half, and that was from a set piece) and been robbed by crazy decisions with that reaction both during and after the game. Crying c*nts.

Lovely performance from almost everyone today, really great to see the setup starting to reap rewards. You can see that it's starting to bring out the best of what we have available in the squad - except probably in the spot to Fabinho's right, as we saw it awfully exposed for the goal and other occasions the first twenty minutes.

Aside from the good luck with their offside when Fab and Hendo just ball watched, we largely staved off their threat by keeping possession better than we've managed in a while - especially helped when Thiago Jones and Diaz put on a ten minute masterclass before our second in how to ramp up pressure by holding the ball, but then aggressively exploiting gaps when they're available. Soucek looked like he'd seen a ghost when he had to defend Diaz dribbling, and conceded one of the corners before the goal. Jones played so well (aside from his tired last five mins) that several times in the first half we'd progressed the ball so high that Fabinho could be played to facing goal on the corner of their box.

Really nice finish from Gakpo, who strikes a ball so cleanly - even managed a clean hit with no timeon the one that bounced through to him early on. Delighted for Joel too, who BT gave man of the match. He handled the new role to perfection, scored a bullet header after perplexing Antionio, and showcased some of the slalomy skills too. Great three points, especially so with Brighton losing

i think the penalty shout could have gone either way if honest and i think that just because some of the ones given are shocking ... do i think it was a penalty no hes falling on the ball nothing unnatural ...as for the game thought we played very well their first goal was far too easy though ... curtis played well jota poor but onwards and forward massive 3 points ...come on Liverpool lets keep winning

Yeah he does. One of the few negatives at the moment is that Darwin looks a bit off the level of the others. He's willing and can cause chaos, but I worry about whether he has the brains to really succeed here. I hope I'm wrong.

Gakpo was superb tonight, fits the way we play and has really 'arrived' as a signing now. Jota has been good again the last few games, we know Diaz is a brilliant player when fully fit, and Mo is Mo.

Nunez probably shouldn't have played so much earlier in the season, and only did because of the crazy injuries, but he's now got to go up a level or two to make it here properly.

That was an extremely decent and pleasing away win against a team in a bit of form with a manager that fuckin hates us.
Great stuff Reds.

There was some great and frustrating moments. Sometimes holding the ball to long rather than shifting the it, and of course sometimes rushing it and not finding the right pass. But it was superb and again our punctured character is on the mend.

Bring on those other cockney pricks now.

Good win. Enjoyed Trent and Curtis very much in the middle there, Gakpo looking excellent again too. Can't beat a Matip goal either, can you?

Fixtures until the end of the season look quite kind. Really disappointing to not kick on after the United game wasn't it. Bournemouth a horror show and should really have taken six points from Arsenal and Chelsea as opposed to just two. Good to see we've tried something else and it's working though. Until the end of the season just give us something to look forward to in 23/24 and play some more nice football as we did tonight.

Nunez and Thiago in for Jota/Hendo at the weekend and take it to Spurs. Fuckin come on Liverpool.

Giod win, great to get 2 wins on the road in a row plus coming back from an early goal will help our confidence- the number of times we've wilted in that same situation has been too many this season.

2 good goals, Matip was superb, maybe apart from their goal (though I'd blame the collective rather than any individual).

Bit of momentum now. Get 3 points on Sunday and if results go our way we'll at least be 5th and knocking on the door.

Earlier on bbc 5 live they were suggesting that Thiago handball was a stone wall pen saying his arm was in an un natural position. Having watched it back what the hell is he supposed to do. He was falling over. Unreal bullshit from the anyone but Liverpool brigade.

I was listening to this on a drive home and it was pretty obvious they all wanted WH to get something from the game

Why was John Henry at the game?

Because he knows not to show his face at Anfield

Think that was an impressive win from the lads

West ham been in form AND we go a goal down...2 months ago we're not drawing this, let alone a win.

They didn't cause us many problems...we were in control for the majority of the match and although quality was lacking in the final third we did enough.

3 wins in a row, happy days!
