Jones's been good, brought some movement and urgency when we looked at times a bit static just slowly and predictably moving the ball.

Keep at it lads,Nunez on at 60 minutes and few minutes to Diaz as well hopefully.

I did originally think it was handball but his arm is down and it gets hit at him. Anyway about time we got a decision like that.

More goals from us in the second half please!

Bit of a weird half. Had the bulk of possession and until the goal we looked a bit lacking in confidence though Jones was busy and Hendo trying to make some overlaps/give a bit of width etc.

Surprised the goal didn't get ruled out as usually the officials don't need much of a reason to blow up against us.

Mo took his goal really well.

Genuine question because he's been turned inside out again but who replaces Fabinho next season as we surely cannot go into the season with him first choice there?

How was that not handball?

We created a good base to work from but god, Jota anf Gakpo were horrible on the ball. But whoop, 2-0.

It only matters if it's handball by the goalscorer.

For a team in relegation battle it feels like they’ve given us an easy ride.

Hopefully Jota gets some confidence from the assist as he looked really lost before then. Been easy once we got that first goal.

Sloppy in possession again but some of the old counter pressing on show even before the goals. Looked a bit more solid at stopping transitions as well. Not a lot of creativity outside of the goals but an improvement from recent games. They don't look up for it, keep them that way, keep the ball.

Their fans do like to boo…….very Evertonesque.

We played pretty well and I was impressed by Gakpo.

I did think it was a handball by TAA for the first.

Jota did excellently well for the 2nd. He won the ball and ran directly to the centre of their defence where he could play the ball left or right. Salah’s finish was just sublime.

More of the same please.

Would've been carnage in here had Leeds got a decision like that.

Tbf i've not seen it as I haven't got a working stream but the match commentary on here insinuated it was a valid goal.

Better. Would like to see the front three getting a bit more involved (not sure I love this particular combination), but we look more functional than usual. Think 0-2 probably makes us sound better than we've been so hopefully we can push on. This isn't over yet.

Salahs goal a peach.
thought the 1st was gonna be ruled out, for handball.

More goals to come on the counter, hopefully 2nd half.
Tailor made for Nunez?

That first half an hour or so from Jota was absolutely brutal. At one point he had 13 turnovers having only found a teammate 10 times. Fair play to him for still showing throughout because a lot of players would have hid.

Would have been a penalty against us if he did that in the box. All good the rules are so whacked out. Great to actually convert some possession for once.

The old Salah finish

I think there probably comes a time eventually when we need to play Salah on his natural side more. Him on the left, Gakpo and Nunez in a staggered middle, and Diaz from the right. Think the time for inverted wingers is drawing to a close.

Seemed like we played within our selves and kill the sting of the game early on may be to quiet their fans? All a bit dull with small glimpses of our quality

A good transition goal though opened the game up and it's what has been our bread and butter for years under Klopp. The second one was a good counter attack too

Some of Jota's passing has been very wayward. It's not exactly his speciality to begin with but glad to see him get an assist to make up for it!

Trent in the middle is nice to see. Looks a little cautious so far but showed a nice range of passing and a great piece of play for the assist.

Quite like to see him on the ball at the edge of the box, he won't hesitate to have a pop at goal

I agree it was a weird half.  Can't tell if we were pretty good or just Leeds is that bad.  We looked anemic for 30 minutes though content to pass sideways back and forth the pitch.

Yet another half where we don't get a single free kick?  Is that possible when we have 70% possession?

A lot of that has to do with where he picks the ball up,he's also the one that tracks back the most.

I know we scored 2 goals and they were decent attacks but before that it was a painful watch. Just misplaced passes and no real creativity. Definitely better the last 15 minutes hopefully we play like that the whole second half

We're guilty of judging a performance based on league position and form. We've had loads of away games like this in seasons we've topped 90 points where we've needed to be patient and haven't been on fire, but the narrative is positive. When we're 8th and struggling we focus on the negatives as if night away games at Leeds are easy.

It only matters if it's handball by the goalscorer.

Daft rule but at the same time it wasnt deliberate, think West Ham scored 2 like that early on in the season to win a game.

Don't get why people where disappointed before we scored the 1st goal? Yes, we weren't creating chances, but the comfortable domination & the press to win back the ball very quickly has been very good considering how porous we've been this season. Eventually we get 2 goals to justify our performance.

Really like the look of this shape with Trent in the middle. Of course, what has helped this work is how incredibly hard the players have pressed when we lose the ball and gotten it back quickly. Leeds have chosen to sit back and give us the ball. I imagine if they decide to press us more and be on the front foot in the 2nd half to try and get a goal back, there will be even more spaces in behind them.

One can already envision how we can be better next season using this shape. Replace even one of the 8s with another who can play on the turn & is good in small spaces (Mount?), who can drive at the opposition from midfield & it'd disrupt the oppo's shape, creating more open LFC players in/around the box.

So far good stuff.
