When you don’t take your chances, the odds are you end up regretting it. We’ve had numerous half-chances.

Koyate’s not had a yellow, which is hardly a surprise given it’s Tierney, but he’s deserved at least one, Yates is dangerous - to our players’ health. Id love to think we can sneak a scruffy goal and avoid any more injuries, coming away with 3 points.

Great chance for Curtis Jones to impress. Unfortunately, he takes too long to decide what to do with the ball, and doesn't impose himself when the opposition has possession.

Joe Gomez still looks nervy to me, quite a few poor passes out from the back.

Carvahlo looks a little light, keeps getting pushed around.

Elliot looks lively, and he and James Milner are causing them problems down the right.

Exactly, lets see what the second half brings.
Sometimes you have to grind one out… might be the case today..we’ve had chances, that’s important..

Worried about Mo though, that was odd.

Ok at the back but thats qualified by the fact I'm not sure Forest have anything to offer in terms of threat.

Bit like us really. Few tweaks required by Jurgen at half time but no doubt he will make 'em. Injuries have hit us hard.

Bobby is too deep IMHO needs to be more of a goal threat. Wish we had Darwin available but there you go.

The win will come. Hopefully.

An early goal in the second half will win it for us, they'll fall apart if they have to chase the game.

Need to increase the tempo, they're playing in third gear at  the moment.

Said it would be a struggle and it was. Basically our XI is put together by duct tape and bailing wire. Just need to find a way to get a goal.

Painful. Expected though. Half our outfield are… not title level starters for one reason or another.

That said, what the fuck is Van Dijk playing at. Put it in the fucking net and stop trying to be a smart arse. The fact he fucked up the header square is just indicative of his level this season.

Get Trent on. Need some creativity.

Elliott can’t kick a ball with his right foot and Jones takes 55 touches every time he gets the ball which isn’t ideal against a deep block when you need your midfielders to move it quickly.

Firmino has been poor and Salah anonymous so we need someone to step up here. Get a 1-0 and get the fuck out of here with the 3 points and just keep slogging away until the world cup break.

Two or three times he's had balls fired into him a foot off the ground with two players right up his arse.  Not much he can do there.

Definitely but he’s also been in space and given the ball away trying to make cute passes. It’s no wonder Robbo isn’t passing to him when he’s asking for it he can’t hold on to the damn ball.

I don't think there was any contact with his high foot, it seemed well wide of Harvey.
Yes.  Harvey also did him a favour by bouncing straight up.  If he'd rolled around a bit it would almost certainly have been a yellow.

I sometimes think we need to be a bit more streetwise but it would be a shame to water down that desire to just play that Harvey has.

Crap so far. 10mins of upping it should be enough here, they are terrible but who knows if we'll do enough. Firmino coming back 40 yards deep in to our own half to lay off a throw in to Robbo who just hoofed it to Mo who was now all alone v 4 defenders summed up our attacking play really.

Kouyate should be off but incredibly doesn't even have a yellow.

Not really incredible though, is it  ;)

Hopefully a repeat of Rangers away - a dreadful first half that turned into a rout.

Although, a 0-1 would be just fine.

Feels a bit like the Rangers away game.
Tight, scruffy first half. Hopefully quality will show in the second half.

We're looking laboured and one dimensional with those inaccurate long balls we peppered all half, still that said we should be 2 up with Carvalho and Virg putting their chances away.

Not great from us. There’s lots of room out right but we’re not using it well. Our final pass has been poor.

Forest won’t come out of their box so get the ball in behind their full backs.
I would throw some height into their box so we can have an alternative threat.

Up the tempo and we’ll win.

We sort of look like 10 players on the pitch who have never played together before.  Disjointed and ragged.  Can see where it's going to take some individual brilliance from someone because I can't see us stringing 4 or 5 attacking passes together to get close enough for a legitimate chance.

Thankfully, they don't look like much either.

(I still like Neco.  Wish he were in at RB for us today.)

It was his 4th foul of the half. His 2nd foul was clever either.

We simply haven’t got the squad to regularly miss 5 or 6 first players and keep churning out the results and performances.

We are not in the 80s. You don't need contact to happen to consider a challenge dangerous and/or reckless.

Terrible first half again. Forest are garbage and yet they're still in the game. Curtis, FFS lad, try playing a little more when you're closer to the opposition's box and not our own. I cannot understand why someone of his technical ability just becomes so passive the further up the pitch he gets.

I'd said it before about him, he's too laid back. He needs to up his game massively, start taking some risks farther up the pitch and start trying stuff out. He really needs to be making the most of the chances he's getting.

Very winnable game, got to use the transition and hit them when the spaces open up

Some have been critical of him but Jones has been excellent, one of the only players using the ball intellegently and not gifting away possession carelessly, his press resistance has been great and his play was vital to one of our chances, taking it wide and delivering a good cross

Van Dijks gotta score, free header 6 yards out... just bury it!!!

Matip is great for games like this. He can at least create space when he pushes forward on the ball. Our best bet seems to work it down the wings but Carvalho keeps coming inside leaving Robertson no one to link with.
