Only thing missing was the goal tonight. Brilliant performance

Yep, couldn't ask for much more. Bodes very well if he's putting in a performance like that in his first start. Also, the fact Jurgen started him tonight speaks volumes about him.

Brilliant League debut. An absolute pain in the arse.  Completely understand why we jumped in rather than let him join Spurs. Tailor made for us.

Every part of his game was great apart from not getting a goal but I was so impressed with how he was linking up and how well he moved the ball about from the first whistle. That surprised me. It shouldn't be that easy so new to the team.

Not only did we choose the right player, he also chose the right club.

We've created a great platform for new signings to thrive in thanks to Jurgen and the coaching team. The transition when a quality player joins just looks seamless.

Yep. That's about as good a full debut as you can get I reckon. Goal missing obviously, but looked very dangerous in a variety of ways.

Fitted in very, very quickly, genuinely looks like he's been here for months already. Absolute love how he was throwing himself into tackles and getting stuck in as well.

Perhaps the first time a player coming from a foreign league didn’t need bedding in. At least Salah has previous experience but Diaz just slotted in like he played for us for months.

I was surprised with how well he could keep pace with the game and could probably have finished the game quite comfortably.

That volley would have sting Schmeichel’s arms.

One of the best debuts I have seen. He was quick, made some good runs and got stuck in.
I think he may pick up some yellows though as he doesn’t back out of tackles. Brilliant.

Knew he had the class with the ball but his overall workrate was what impressed me most. Didn't look like he was doing it to impress, it just looks like its his natural game in the same way as Mane.

He's a great fit. You can absolutely tell why we made him our priority. I read in one of the articles that the view was that he was already a well-developed player but with enough rawness in him for Jurgen to help him take a step or two. I think we saw exactly that. He just oozes quality but there was a couple of moments that with a bit more game time and adjustment into the team, he will probably be more incisive. Anyway, I'm nitpicking. That was a super fun debut. He really looks like a class player.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

TBF, the rest of the team isn't as Prem-proven as him, so they'll need time to get used to the league.
