The Fulham lineup basically gave away what the plan is for tomorrow with little surprise.  I think the only choices are between Kabak being fit or not and then playing Phillips with Fabinho.  I think Bobby would have started if healthy but it doesn't make all that much difference due to Jota assuming Mane and Salah are fine.  Gini, Thiago and Jones in midfield and we just try to hold on with a win just being icing on the cake.

Qualification would at least give the hope of the draw for the Quarter Finals and might just ease the current tension a little - although the same could be said for the first leg.

Until we're out I'll be watching every game hoping for a win and eventual trophy lift.  Just need to temper expectations so that when the odds on thing does happen it doesn't hit you like a ton of bricks.

Just keep a clean sheet, that is the first goal and once we get into the second half they will have to push on even more allowing us a couple of chances to finish them off. I would start Kabak & Philips together and even have Fab back there too. If Milner was available I would start him as RB as no need to push Trent on this game. Might be a wee negative but we are not scoring goals so pack the lines and limit spaces.

That's the spirit.

I think they'll come right out at us and we'll rip them apart. I don't expect this to kick start us or anything domestically, but on the night I'm confident we'll step up.

Who was their main threat last time. Without him, they looked a bit slow, so I will take that.

At least we aren't playing at Anfield, so that added pressure has gone.

Probably facial muscle injury given all the mouthing off he has done in the build up.

Plenty of teams have done well in the CL while having stinkers in their domestic league. Good examples would be Chelsea who won the competition in 2012 despite finishing 6th, and errrr, ummm, some club called Liverpool in 2005. Sevilla became everyone’s nemesis for a few years in the UEFA cup despite being no big deal domestically.

I’d be more hopeful if we could count on the Anfield 12th man but even so, I’m quietly confident we’ll get through to the quarters at the absolute minimum.

To be honest, I think I'd take a 1-0 loss right now if it was offered to me, but this is an opportunity to turn in a performance, put in all the blood, sweat and tears and prove to people that this can still be a season to remember for us.

Get a result against Leipzig, a win against Wolves then go into our mid-season break and then rise from the canvas like Tyson Fury.

Knowing us lately we would take it short and the Ref would blow for full time.  ;D

Seriously though. If we can get through the next two games unscathed there is light at the end of the tunnel. Get players fit and get work done on the training pitch during the break.

Please, no Origi.

Two things could happen...

He'll start wide and be completely anonymous, having the odd touch where he falls over the ball

OR

He'll play central, score 4 goals, kick on, displace Firmino, go on to rack up another 14 goals and 4 assists by the time the season ends, score a hattrick against Bayern in the CL final, sign another long term contract extension, start the first game of next season back out wide, be completely anonymous, have the odd touch where he falls over the ball, slip back into obscurity again, and move to Wolves on deadline day for £15m plus Pedro Neto.
