That's few enough to tip the vote.

You'd like to think ex-pats would be one of the largest % pro remain groups you could find, thus I'd feel sorry for them.

I suspect the % is lower than common sense would dictate.

--edit-- seems 30% still voted FOR brexit. (bang head emoji).

From that article:

"The balance would have shifted from 16.1 million remain votes to possibly more than 19 million, while the leave vote would have increased to  around 18.4 million.

That switches the result to a 600,000 majority to remain. A slender win, but still a win under Britain’s first past the post referendum rules."

A slender Remain win would have been, from my perspective, the ideal result.

1) We remain in the EU.

2) The Tories continue to tear themselves apart over the EU. Hopefully leading to a fracturing of the party with the Eurosceptics splitting away to join the frog-faced fascist's band of lunatics.

It boggles the mind, do these individuals (and there are plenty examples from farmers to fisherman along with factory workers in car plants) simply lack the ability to critically analyse situations? In other words - a distinct lack of brain cells to connect the rather obvious dots?

I mean - what did they expect was going to be the outcome?

I'm never surprised any longer at the dumb fuckery of some of (apparently quite a lot) the people that share this Island.

The above outcome is a simple maths equation - doing this WILL equal this.

Long debated with myself about moving countries.

UK’s flagship post-Brexit trade deal worth even less than previously thought, OBR says

Office for Budget Responsibility says UK entry into the Indo-Pacific agreement will add just 0.04% to GDP in the long run.

The UK’s flagship trans-Pacific trade deal, which was presented as a cornerstone of post-Brexit “global Britain”, will deliver even less benefit to the economy than the tiny uplift that was previously predicted, according to the Office for Budget Responsibility.

The tiny predicted benefits from these trade deals contrast with the OBR’s own calculation that the UK economy will be 4% smaller than if we had stayed in the EU.

James Dyson has lost his libel claim against the publisher of the Daily Mirror.

The inventor, 76, gave evidence at the Royal Courts of Justice for two days in a trial against Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN) over an article published in January 2022.

In the Daily Mirror article, the journalist Brian Reade referred to the engineer as “the vacuum-cleaner tycoon who championed Vote Leave due to the economic opportunities it would bring to British industry before moving his global head office to Singapore”.

Reade continued: “Kids, talk the talk but then screw your country and if anyone complains, tell them to suck it up.”

Dyson brought the high court claim against MGN, describing the allegations in the article as a “vicious and vitriolic” personal attack.

But in a ruling on Friday, Mr Justice Jay dismissed the inventor’s claim. He said: “In the present case the claimant cannot demonstrate that he has suffered financial loss as a result of these publications. Nor can he show that his philanthropic work, particularly directed to young people and schools, has been harmed in any way.”

Irrespective of being unable to demonstrate financial loss, surely Dyson's core complaint of being libeled is vacuous.

Sometimes, I'm too subtle, and I get no responses. That, or the pun/joke is shite.

You've got to live dangerously and risk no one spotting it. Nothing worse than highlighting your own pun using bold or italics.

I'm not sure typing shite at RAWK ever can described as 'living dangerously', but you are surely correct, Elmo! ;D

Had an interesting chat with some family about Brexit the other day and someone made a really good point.

It's pretty much impossible to find ANYONE that voted for it. Everyone denies it.

Why is that? half the country is inbred and has the brains of a brain-damaged cheeseburger so why so coy now?

They've all died?
"All the lads have been talking about is walking out in front of the Kop, with 40,000 singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone'," Collins told BBC Radio Solent. "All the money in the world couldn't buy that feeling," he added.

I know quite a few.

I did know some, but everyone I know has binned them off. Not seen or heard of any of them since and good riddance.

I don't know anyone in Liverpool that admits to it though.

How can you be friends with such fuckwits though? Or are they family?
