You have to thank Ulla as well as she told him to turn down United and come to Liverpool instead! 😂

She's deffo an honourary Scouser too.

Must be hard for her, as I was told a couple of weeks ago that she still doesn't want to leave.

He's going to be in tears on Sunday. This will be harder for him than leaving Dortmund was.

everyone's forgetting how he blatantly lied to us on Day 1.

"normal one"? my arse.

more accurate if he'd said "I'm the unbelievable one".  but of course he never would say that, nor does he think it for a second.  which makes him even more admirable.

Am I being cynical thinking that is something commercial? He’s got a LFC scarf on like, not sure if he’d just randomly be wearing a footy scarf like that  ;D

Regardless, this week is about Kloppo.

However, I bet it didn't take him much convincing
It would have meant a lot to him to be stood there in silence and rememberong the special nights.

Memories.

Now it has come to an end.

Ah the memories. Never known excitement like it as a football fan.

It panned out exactly how we dreamed. Exactly how many of us dreamed even in the years he was managing Dortmund. And to this day I still can't believe Jurgen Klopp became Liverpool manager, our living legend. A great manager and an even greater man, he is the true spiritual successor to Shankly.

So how do we cope when we all fall back to earth?

He looks a lot more relaxed and I’m sure a few months out of the pressure cooker will do him a world of good.

I can only wish him all the best and thank him from the bottom of my heart for the memories.

yep!

Makes me laugh how dickheads try and talk down what he’s achieved. Both here and at Dortmund, he’s done what others couldn’t, and here done it while competing with cheats and clubs with greater financial power.  He could have ‘just’ won the CL or league here and would be more of a legend than those who ‘win’ at teams like Abu Dhabi or Chelsea when they had Abramovich’s dirty money funding them.

Kloppo is one of the greats. In all 3 of his clubs, done it the right way, and didn’t leave those clubs at times he could have easily gone on to richer clubs. And that's because he’s one of the rare ones who feels that a strong connection to a club and city is hugely important to how he works. He is one in a million.

Re: Jürgen Klopp
« Reply #11517 on: May 15, 2024, 10:43:57 am »
I’m a Shankly Boy

My first memory of being  Red is me Dad giving me a ( framed!)  Echo pull out pic of Rowdy Yeats lifting the league trophy  with the team at Anfield in 66….I was hooked, my first game at Anfield aged 9 , from the Boys pen in awe of the Kop…Shankly was my ( our) king…I was obsessed, I adored him…when Shankly retired it was a bombshell, but what followed was glorious, I spent Forty years following the Reds home and away and in Europe…I’ve experienced the very best and much more a football fan could dream of …amazing football, magical game ,leagues, European Cups and Trophy’s galore and the best laughs and experiences with the mate the games home and away…why am I telling you this? for context.

The Klopp years are up there with the very best of those moments, the football , the trophies  ( yes wish there was more) the football…those magical games…and at the centre of it all Jurgen Klopp , the man,..like Shanks, I love him , adore him, he is the personification of what you want a Liverpool Manager to be…strong, funny , passionate, clever, witty, the epitome of the ‘Spirit of Wacker’. Whatever happened to the team, I was reassured by Klopp, inspired by him. In a world of snidey people in power Klopp showed how a leader should be….never losing yourself to ego, retaining your humanity, giving hope.

It has been beyond wonderful..I’ve always said we had a holy Trinity in Shanks, Bob and Kenny, now it’s a ‘Quandrinty’ with Klopp joining the Holy of Holy’s

I could , want, to say more, but I think the very best thing I can say from a personal perspective is whatever the future holds for LFC I shall always be…

A Shankly Boy and A Klopp Man.

Something about living on Merseyside really appeals to the better halves of our great managers. Montse could have moved to Madrid or the Amalfi coast with Rafa and said 'Nah, you're grand, I'll stay here'.
