Right?

They’re not making Juventus look awful. Juventus are playing awfully. If you’re watching this pondering how well Spurs are playing, and how unlucky Juve are to come up against such an ace side stopping them playing then fair enough. Nonsense, but fair enough.

The truth is somewhere in between. Juventus aren't creating anywhere near the chances they need to to win and they look unbalanced in attack. But Spurs are playing very well.

That would be United at the moment.

It’s not nonsense at all Juve can’t handle Spurs press it’s that simple. They couldn’t in the first leg they cant here. Their midfield is second best to an embarrassing extent

People getting way too worked up in here.

They really are - sat in a pub full of Spuds fans. They'll probably go though but they don't really believe they'll win this. Their last European trophy was 1984.

Spurs deserve to be going through. They are just better, quicker and stronger than Juve at the moment. Not helping that Juve has Barzagli up against Son, thought allegri had some tactical sense. So much of this Juve team look on the downhill. Spurs are also way better at diving, had not believed it before this match. Juve are really experts at it, but Spurs have even overtaken them there.

Juve should have had a penalty though, but are not doing anything near enough to be even in with a shout to go through.

No wonder Juve want Can. They midfield is shit.

Looking at this you have to ask why Can would want to go there though.

You cannot call overseas Liverpool supporters glory hunters. We’ve won one trophy this decade. If they’re glory hunters, they’re really bad ones. They’re actually journey hunters. It’s the journey and the story. Something about Liverpool has grabbed them." - Neil Atkinson (May, 2019)

Juve are playing a kind of unbalanced 3-4-1-2, with Barzagli as right back but not getting forward at all. It's left him exposed to Son (he needs some Factor 50) and it's also meant Sandro having to deal with the whole left flank in attack and defence.

Since having Khedira-Pjanic-Matuidi isn't helping them much, one option is to remove one of them and put on Lichsteiner as a proper right wing back and playing Costa and Dybala wide of Higuain in a 3-4-3 to really go for it. They can play a bit more direct then too. But it'd risk leaving them further exposed in central midfield.

Juventus should’ve had a penalty for sure, but wasn’t Chellini’s handball one as well? To be honest, I’m not 100% certain how that rule works, but it looked intentional to me.

I’m still dumbstruck over the penalty appeal.

It’s possibly the Maoist baltent penalty you will see, but because he stumbles when he goes down, he doesn’t get it.  If he’d have dived he’d have got it.... and that’s why people dive...

Outrageous decision.

The progress Spurs are making as a club under Pochittino is incredible. I know they've not won a trophy under him but you need to be a simpleton to judge on that alone. From where they started to where they are now is some step up.

Would of been harsh as it was accidental but to be honest it's not worth dwelling on the penalty decisions anyway. It was an awful call but a side like Juventus can't be blaming a defeat over two legs on a penalty they never got.

You can tell they just aren't comfortable with the physicality and pace of the game. Their bigger players are just lost in the middle getting pressed quickly. Mane would of had a hat trick in that first half.
