4-3 i'm going for.

Mignolet, Moreno, Lovren, Matip, Gomez, Henderson, Can, Wijnaldum, Coutinho, Salah, Firmino.

What if we draw, is the top 4 still gone?

Need to win 6-0 to stand any chance of club survival

p.s.  top 4 is already gone

Just have to see what team turns up really. Been a few ups and downs at both ends of the pitch. If I'm being honest I think you'd be crazy if you were confident of us winning and equally confident of us losing. Just absolutely no idea which team will turn up. If both teams play to there maximum then of course we win.

I don't see the game as massive personally because it has no impact of how we will perform in the next one.

Please god no, i dont want to see those 3 midfielders on the pitch at the same time.

I think Can and Wijnaldum will play but no Henderson. Think Milner will come in for him and Trent ahead of Gomez.

Milner coming in for Hendo is hardly resolving any issues of lack of creativity, pace, movement etc.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Put Courinho top left and play AOC instead of Gini in midfield

I'd have liked that (albeit in place of Can not Gini). But Henderson and Chamberlain playing last night seems to have put paid to this. I'd like Coutinho to continue in his more advanced position of last year to help improve our scoring threat, while Mané was out, but that also doesn't look like happening.

Given the Mané suspension, I'd have liked to have been able to play a (not exhausted) front 6 of Henderson, Gini, Chamberlain, Coutinho, Firmino, Salah. Then trade in Mané for one of Gini/Chamberlain on Tuesday.

I would guess it'll be Can, Gini, Milner - which would be disappointing, especially having seen in hindsight that using Henderson and Chamberlain for 90 minutes, and Gini for 75, didn't even keep us in the competition. Still, think that'd be preferable to starting Sturridge and/or moving Firmino, and dropping Coutinho into the midfield three, which I'm a bit worried about.

Milner coming in for Hendo is hardly resolving any issues of lack of creativity, pace, movement etc.

Agree with that, but it looks like that's the midfield the boss is setting up for.

Thanks for the OP. Really good.
I would be tempted to use Gomez as a full back here. If for no other reason than he is a centre half and I can see Leicester using "the long ball breaking to support" technique that scored their first and Burnley's goals against us.
Also he is starting to play himself into a really viable option now. I expect him to be ahead of Klavan as the season wears on.
Either Moreno or Robertson (whom I would go for) on the left.
I would play PC in midfield with Hendo and Can (height being a factor here too).
That leaves up front. I would play Bobby and Salah in their slots and that leaves Mane's place .. I don't know myself, the obvious person is Oxchambo but ....

Kinda hoping its Can, Gini, Coutinho, Salah, Sturridge, Firmino but yeah in hindsight cant see us starting without our captain or vice captain.

My worry for this one is Vardy and Okazaki who will both run all day and bully our CBs. When we push up with probably Moreno bombing forward when we lose the ball at some point a nice ball down the channel and they are away.

If it was me I would go with Karius in goal and stick with him regardless. If we are going to play a high line he is the quickest off his line out of the goalkeepers we have and starts counter attacks quicker than anyone else also.

Milner is more creative than Henderson and, currently, more defensively stable too, though. I wouldn't have Henderson in the side based on his current form. Thought he actually did alright in the first half last night but was shocking again in the second half and left the defence exposed. Just don't think he's properly fit and when that's the case, he's a long way short of having the football brain to compensate.

We just need to be more clinical in front of goal.

With Salah playing he will cause them huge problems, we need to exploit those.
The longer the game goes on without us scoring will give them confidence like it did yesterday. Okasaki made a difference for them and we need to ensure we are expecting that tenacity and work hard to keep the ball moving.

Leicester are getting us at the right time so expecting a loss here, they have our number and  will sit back soak pressure and expose us defensively on the break,  playing like the away side while we dominate position. Whatever happens Klopp should not be under any pressure he will sort this out.
I will never understand a Liverpool fan going into a game expecting a loss. A loss! Against mighty Leicester City! Have some faith otherwise why the fuck bother

Feels like we have been saying for ages that we need a reaction and a performance from this side but we just need the 3 points.

We need to go on a run now and put this spell behind us, otherwise we risk our season flatlining.

I said after the Burnley game that this is a massive week for the Club - we risk being out of a Cup competition and potentially 8 points behind one or both of the Manchester clubs.

I just feel that we have put ourselves in a really shitty position, with a lot of added pressure heaped on us.

I think the midfield and front 3 pick themselves, but after what happened with Trent at Burnley, will he put Gomez on that side? Or does the fact he played last night make TAA a shoe-in to start? Moreno will probably start but don't think Robinson did himself any harm last night from what I saw, especially offensively.

Just fucking win, Reds.

Agreed, worst case scenario is Spurs 3 points ahead of us and Arsenal 2. Never seen that kind of deficit overturned with 30 plus games to play. ;D
Of course is can be overturned, but it can also easily increase after the next 6 games(Newcastle, man utd, spurs, huddersfield, west ham, soton)

Anyway let's fucking win on Saturday!!

At least after this Mane's suspension will be done, and hopefully that will be an end to this seasons "January". Phil getting ever closer to full fitness helps, too.

Now, we just need some of our prolific number of shots to go in.

Yes, this is the final match he's banned for. The League Cup game counted as one of them, think it's a ban that covers all competitive domestic games  (and Derbies).

Time flies. Took things for granted that we will continue to collect trophies, championships, etc. year in year out. It's more than 2 decades now without winning the league - our bread and butter. The older you get, the more realistic you become. Supporting Liverpool is a joy to be relish and I intend continue to do so until the day I die. It's not to make you miserable or depressed and if it did, then you should give this up

As for Leicester - I am looking forward this. Expecting Klopp to be pissed and kick-assing the team after Tuesday's defeat. Team will be looking to redeem themselves (I hope!) and we will finally beat them after 3 defeats at the whatever is the name of their ground today - King Tut? (Filbert Street - that I know)

Good luck RedMen! Prove to some of these doubters/losers that you're better than what they think you are

I think it will be a different game to the one from last night. We'll be much stronger and if we can play like we did in the first half, as well as score, we have a great chance.

Coutinho starts I think, which is why he came off at half time. Main question is what do we do in place of Mane. Jesus, we seem to fall to pieces when he's not on the pitch.  I know he struggled last night but AOC can't be judged or disregarded on that so I'd play him in the front three and he'll do much better with Bobby and Salah.

                  Migs

TAA     Matip     Lovren    Robertson

                 Henderson

    Can                      Coutinho

Salah           Firmino              AOC

I think Coutinho plays in the front 3 and either Milner or Wijnaldum plays with Hendo and Can in the midfield.  I also think Moreno comes in for this one.

Milner coming in for Hendo is hardly resolving any issues of lack of creativity, pace, movement etc.

These issues aren’t really stopping us from creating goal scoring chances.  We just simply aren’t putting the ball in the goal but we are creating chances.

Wow. Just read odds on Klopp sacking have gone from 100-1 to 16-1 in just 5 days!

Pressure is on now, must win. Think we will get revenge though and will have a handful of key players to come in. 3-2 Reds.

We dont need Can and Henderson together in a midfield 3. Gini plays well if he has Phil in there so id go with them 2 and either Can or Henderson.....up top id rather see Firminio in the middle so id love to see Woodburn given the chance up top with Salah

The team I would pick would be Karius. TAA, Matip, Lovren, Moreno, Henderson centrally, Milner, Wijnaldum, Salah on the right, Coutinho on the left with Firmino up top.  Although I am no fan of Milner centrally I think he will help tactically in filling in when Moreno bombs forward for example.  Karius would start for me as if we are going to play a high line his quickness off the line would help with the ball over the top.

Can't we just have Milner back in the team at FB? I liked him there last season until he tired. Should be OK this season with more rotation.

Although I echo the sentiments that Gini, Can and Henderson isn't right, balnce-wise.

I wouldn't say I'm confident exactly like, but neither am I as worried as you. Mind you, you seem to be in favour of sacking Klopp on Saturday if we lose, so I'm quite glad our feelings on footy don't concord.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if we have three dozen shots and fail to score again, although I think we're due a bit of luck and hopefully it arrives this weekend.
