I lost my brother in law this morning so want our boys to win, for him and me and my dad and everyone else involved.

Forehead on the table seeing Lallana not in the middle. Neither Sturridge or Origi really doing it at the mo, so maybe it was a necessary sacrifice? Personally, I think it's far more important to have Lallana in the middle and to then stuff in someone else along the front than this way round. Especially against a team that should be doing alot of defending. We just don't get that bit of fun coming from deeper. Blunting our game to me.

Sturridge and Origi were so bad midweek that they don't deserve to start. Plus Firmino does not play centrally.

Personally, I think Matip will come in Klavan and be same team Wednesday.

2 new signings straight in for Swansea. Could unsettle them.

Or inspire them. Or nothing. I don't know.

No surprises in the starting lineup.
Hope we can score early. I think that's important. Would like to see a goal from Coutinho and/or Firmino.

The only other option was either Origi or Sturridge, who both played quite long stints in the cup and who were both utter shite in the cup.

Can and Wiji both played well against United, no reason not to keep them both in the side and we've got nice firepower off the bench.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

I hate this last period before a game. Always seems to take ages. Sitting in work doing fuck all, wondering if the pints in the pub are on offer on a Saturday during the football.

Can only see a convincing win for us. Hopefully 3-0 up at half time.

Performance level in the last match isn't how you pick for the next match though (if it was Can wouldn't have played agaisnt united after his performance against Southampton)
What we have on the pitch is more than fine so it's nit picking anyway - but playing Lallana forward with can and Henderson is conservative agaisnt these.

Bigger picture it's surprising he doesn't give Sturridge the start as it's a perfect game for him and it's tough for him to get any kind of rhythm with how little he's playing

I was actually thinking about this, because looking at that line-up I am somewhat...whelmed. I suppose there's an argument for Can being given the opportunity to 'play his way into form', although that's not one which appears to apply to either Origi or Sturridge. It's also a bit strange to see the midfield trio of Henderson-Wijnaldum-Lallana broken up with it having been so successful so far this year.

Still, hopefully I am wrong about this (I usually am) and we'll have a cracking game.

Midfield has no creativity in it at all. It's all well and good packing a creative front three, but you need a midfield to be able to find them, get forward and beyond and threaten the goal.

I wonder how they have been working on this in training. Perhaps Henderson will be let of the leash and get forward more to support.

Is it fair to say that if Sturridge doesn't  start against Swansea at home when we are a bit short of options that he is no longer of any use to Klopp?

Surprised without really being surprised. Still think we will murder them.

Wanna see us do what we were doing at the start of the season - get ahead early and not let up. Go for the jugular. Put the game beyond them as soon as possible.

More recently in games where we've gone ahead we seemed to stop playing and letting teams back into it. Let's revert to the former.
Has Steven Gerrard scored a goal even more important than the one he got against Olympiakos - Is this the start of something BIG?

Often true ;D

Routledge, Sigurdsson, Fer and the underrated Cork is the basis of a half decent midfield, plus Llorente up front - surprising to see them at the bottom. The midfield will be interesting. Got some good options if it's a 0-0 type situation at half time too.

Klopp just explained in a pre-match interview that he couldn't include Matip in the two sessions and drills they've had since the Plymouth game in case the verdict had gone the other way.

So he misses out.
