Well that wasn't too good. An exercise in passing the ball around a lot and not delivering anything potent. Firmino seems to be one of few threats, and even he's not playing too well tonight. Shape up or we're heading of to a very bad start.

Don't need Lucas, Can and Gini with all this possession, I'd take Lucas off as he's been poor. As for their goal - that's horrific from Klavan at Sunday league let alone PL level. LFC have been too cautious & slow with the ball

It's been horribly predictable, pass, pass, pass without actually doing anything with the ball. I wouldn't mind seeing Coutinho and Origi on for Can and Sturridge, we've been terrible.

Karius has kept us in the game.

Been really poor esp since we conceded which again came from a passage of sloppy play. Need to step this up as they are defending deep in numbers but we cant seem to handle their breaks.

Been toothless for a while. Emre Can just not a first team player at the moment, would rather Ejaria. Gini just can't control midfield desperately missing Henderson.

Barely threatened them at all despite completely dominating possession. Karius playing brilliantly though, he's keeping us in it at the minute.
Sturridge has been shite or rather nullified by that back 6 - maybe get Origi on for something different or risk Coutinho on 60 minutes?

Klavan has to wear that one, really bad touch for the goal.

Whole defensive line seem half asleep. Lucas looking really good on and off the ball. Up front not much has been created but Sturridge has been so static. It's quite ridiculous how little he is involved in the game other than scoring - which sounds harsh but isn't if you actually watch him.

Special mention to Karius...great couple of saves.

Only half time and the good thing is we are only 1 down but the lads are playing as if they know theres a 2nd leg. Need to wake up, it's all slow and shit at the moment. We take our time and the bus gets back into place. Felt like Lallana would be more up for this, like the rest of the lads he's been shite, got skinned a few times aswell.

We lost 2 big players from the team playing great footy ie coutinho an mane, bound to struggle really, bad bad error from klaven, great stuff from karius to keep us in it, could be big save the last 1.

Karius was brilliant.

Lallana is just such a quality player.

Klavan with a mistake, but can be too hard on him considering how consistently solid he's been in pretty much every game he's played for us.

Come on!! Turn this around, I still feel we can get something from this

The only thing good thing I'm taking from that is that Nathan Redmond hasn't (yet) joined the ranks of Peter Ndlovu and Kevin Lisbie as being one of those pub team players that end up scoring a hat-trick against us.

Feels like we're in a real rut at the moment. Look a different side than the one that put all those impressive performances on. If we don't come out better in the next half we're in danger of letting a cup final slip away.

That was awful. If not for Karius we be out of the tie.

Firmino looks knackered and Sturridge has been playing like it's a testimonial. Less said about Can and Lucas in midfield the better.

Everyone's just packs the defense against us now, and without Mane and Coutinho we don't seem to have an answer.
