Not much to say there. We should've won, but they deserved their penalties.

Let's have perspective though. We've taken 13 points from our last five games. That's better than championship winning pace. We're 14 points better off than we were after 20 games last season. We're nine points better than the equivalent fixtures last season. It's wasteful and it hurts, that's all.

Shit happens. It's frustrating but we're gonna drop points at some point. Hopefully Spurs can do us a favour.

We're not out of the running for the title but we're right up against it now.
Don't do this to yourself mate. Let us focus on consolidating the Top 4 spot this season.

WTF

Spurs could turn Chelsea over and we have gained a point  , personally think Spurs will get at least a draw

Sadly Spurs hardly ever turn up against the big teams.

And arseholes posting on here. 7 points from these 3 games is a great return all things considered.

The problem is Chelsea will most likely take all 9 points.

I wish Lucas would just leave this club he provides nothing, a cult hero but a crap player.

Stop being a whopper you, he has been a great servant and everything you would expect in a Liverpool player.

Unreal how shite we were today with the passing and pressing, clearly our players were tired but thats why we have more than 11 players, so we can rotate the squad.

Sunderland battled and battled there for 95 mins they should look at themselves tho because if they have that in their locker they should be ashamed of their other performances.

A corner and a flick on from the Sunderland player. It wasn't. And not a handball on Can, wasn't deliberate and his arm is in a natural position.
'
Natural position, you gotta be kidding  ;D. That's a penalty 8 times out of 10.

But our goal wasn't offside, that's true.

No chance.

Season over, time to scrap it out for 4th. I'm sure players like Klavan and emre can will be a force in the champions league.

Season over :lmao

Get a fucking grip

Yeh, you're right, every other side may as well just give up now and hand the title to Chelsea

I knew we will drop points when i saw overconfidence here.

Burnley, west ham and now Sunderland. By now i hope fans and players realise teams and fans raise their game against us ..

Title is gone , This team lacks dirtiness to win title. It will a good experience for the young lads. We have to lose before winning it . Consolidate Top4 now. Game against manc is might important now. We cant lose there
It's not gone though. Especially if Spurs do us a favour.

Whether we win the league or not is not the central point this season. The main thing is we are making progress under Klopp. We would have taken being second at this point when he came in. It is possible more progress than we expected. If we are to mount a serious title challenge we need to cut out the brain fart moments. At this point us leading doesn't give me the confidence we will see it out. I do believe we can win the title under Klopp. This season is unlikely given how strong Chelsea are going and I don't see them collapsing.
Overall this season has been a good one so far and we are making good progress.

Our fans were far too complacent going into is match. Some of the shite in a the pregame thread was cringeworthy.

Haha funny we get this now but not a mention when people say we'll beat Hull, Leicester, City and all the rest. Some of you sound happy we drop points so you can come on and give it "SEE YOU c*nts, HOW DARE YOU BE CONFIDENT BEFORE THE GAME" drivel. Utterly pathetic .

Our fans were far too complacent going into is match. Some of the shite in a the pregame thread was cringeworthy.

Got what we deserved in many ways today. Quite simply, there are no easy games in this league. Thought Can was ordinary today. Gave away possession needlessly, including in the lead up to their first goal.

Onwards and upwards. Need to win at Old Trafford.

You're not wrong there. The "positive" folks (self-branded) that pollute the pre-match threads with predictions of 3-,4-, and 5-0's annoy me endless. It's obvious where the complacency comes from. Fucking annoyed about this result.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

The FA and Sky got what they wanted: to fuck us over with 2 games in 3 days.

Can you really not bother with this conspiracy shit? Every club has a shitty schedule around this time, and some have it worse than others. It's not like they were in a dark, smoky room plotting our downfall.

Mannone had one of those games. Superstar goalkeeping.

We had too many leggy players. Wijnaldum and Can were not on it. Decision-making was very much off. Firmino, bless him can't do much right.

I think Jurgen should have trusted the squad more. Lallana or Lovren could have captained, no need to overplay Milner.

Disappointing result.

Shit result, 2 points dropped but there's still a long way to go.  Didn't see the game but from what I heard on the radio we where knackered.  Can't believe we've had two games in less than 48 hours and Chelsea get two days extra rest.

It wasn't a free kick, so stop blaming Lucas.  :butt

Why aren't you more hurt at the result rather than a constant defense of Lucas? He gave away the free kick on the edge of the box. What don't you understand about that? Even at worst if you find the decision debatable (it wasn't), he shouldn't have put that silly challenge in.

The problem is Chelsea will most likely take all 9 points.

If we had their schedule, we'd have had all 9 points too. That's why I said all things considered. We were up against it, and we've got 7 points out of 9. Almost no break at all between beating City and kicking off today.

Fuming. We needed to win this to put pressure on Chelsea and as per usual a combination of fucking clueless decision making and a goalkeeper transformed into Neur for a game, fucked it right up.

This feels like a defeat and pales the City win into insignificance.

Not to mention Sturridge is injured again.

Welp, teams drop points. We haven't done it a lot this year, but we have today sadly. Oh well, on to the next one, with more than 44 hours break and Henderson, Couthino, Matip back hopefully, and perhaps a signing to fill in Mane's position when he leaves

And hey, Chelsea will drop points, and if they don't, we would never catch them anyway and they'd fully deserve the title for the feat. In contrast to Chelsea who are doing phenomenally well, this seems like us being shite. Yes, we should beat teams like this, but as frustrating as it is we've been doing amazingly well ourselves.

Easiest way to put your mind at ease is just keep moving on to the next one rather than dwelling on the Bournmouths, West Hams, and Todays (which was at least understandable with the time frame).

Shoulda won that

But we can't argue with the result cos we fucked up defensively. Mane had no reason at all to stick his arm out like that, really poor.

It seems terrible because of the impossible standards being set at the moment, but that was a v.good return for the Xmas period. Almost perfect.

Long way to go lads, chin up and at worst we're 8 points off top which is not insurmountable. We just need to keep going and bounce back.

can people stop saying we could've conceded more pens ffs! Just because a commentary team says it (they did on my stream) doesn't make it fact.

Can was about 2 yards away with his arm in a normal position. That was never a pen. Ever. So stop using it to beat us with. Twats.

Seriously, watch the replay. Defoe went down under hardly any contact. Putting your body smartly across to shield the ball isn't a foul. The ref just bought into Defoe selling it.
Lucas always gives a free kick away that's his job, he's fucking crap. Can't understand the love-in he gets and the criticism the likes of Wij gets.

Did you miss Cans handball? and our goal was offside

Neither of our goals were offside.  Two men and goalie (who had his annual stormer against us as usual) played Dan onside and the tall defender headed it on for Mane's goal.
