This is pretty horrific, and thankfully reports are that someone has been arrested. Some reports saying that the man shouted "Britain First!", but this isn't confirmed.

Appalling news. Hope she pulls through. Sounds like a far-right Britain First knuckledragger reading eyewitness reports, hope he never sees the light of day again.

Horrific news, an absolute disgrace that an MP should be targeted like this. Hope she fully recovers and the dickhead who did this recognises  that no matter what grievances you have- doing this has absolutely no place in our country.

Agree but for the last line. Hope your not trying to say or presume already that it was someone not from this Country.

Absolutely not. I actaully tried to rephrase that as I didn't want to it descending into a Brexit debate. I meant that in some other countries this is a regular occurance, we do not and it should not become part of British politics. That MPs can meet face to face with constituents and discuss issues is a brilliant part of our democracy, we do not want it to end because of the threat to members of parliament.

I dont think that's what the poster is implying. Seems unlikely anyway seeing as they're reported to have said 'Britain first' which strikes me as something unusual for a foreign national to say.

Lots of heightened bad feeling about with this referendum and I'm not sure it will pass very quickly, sadly.

So wrong. A politician who'd spent years working on trying to make things better for people here in Britain and abroad even before she became an MP.

Rest in peace.
