Because it's more noticeable when people get up and leave en masse during a game.
I don't know. Imagine a PL game kicking off with a completely empty stadium.

Unfortunately Klopp has backed Achterburg. That and Mignolets contract are my biggest worries about potential slip ups he may make here.

I'm convinced Achterberg has something on the owners. How hard can it be to get rid of a GK coach? He's currently coaching a grand total of three players, one of whom just came back from loan and another who's only been here for part of a season. It's not like replacing him is going to send shockwaves through the entire team. We've got a manager from a country famous for producing good keepers - surely he can find us a good coach somewhere.

Come off it. When did Hodgon's side put in a performance like that at City? This is a fairly typical spell, that we've seen pretty much every time under a new manager in the last 25 years or so. It doesn't need a complete overhaul; it needs the manager's ideas to bed in, to get over some serious injury-driven imbalances and it needs some injections of quality. But it's not the shittest squad in living memory.

OK. Let's have a test. Name  players, like-for-like, that would replace the ones we had under Hodgson. It wasn't the squad that was the issue then. It was Hodgson. That's the difference. We've a world class manager now, and these lot aren't fit to grace his presence.

Show me the clips then of all these points he cost us, cos Mignolet has cost us 15 of the fuckers so far and we're only in February.

Back your left, right and centre shit up.
Yeah I'd like to see it too.

Jurgen Klopp has undergone surgery. The operation to remove his appendix is said to have been a success.

Great news, hope he's back well and rested in the very near future.

Pepe Reina was close to world class at one point, Mignolet has been decent at best and absolutely atrocious at worst.

Read my post again. I'm not saying Mig had the same ability as Reina. I'm saying he has regressed badly, just like Reina regressed in latter years of his time with us.

I'm asking the question could it be down to the quality of GK coaching? Is Achtenburg good enough?

If fans were serious about protest they wouldn't buy the ticket in the first place. How dumb is it to pay the money to the owners and then leave during the game. The owners only feel a protest when it hits their pockets. Especially Yank owners.

that would be good too to be honest.

why anyone want to fork out $77 to watch the dross served is beyond belief.

enough about the walkout..

this team is really inconsistent and weak. The same team that beat City and Chelsea and lost to other teams weaker...

Just totally burnt out with this drama to be honest.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't just think it's down to Mignolet being shit. I'm really concerned about the quality of coaching he is being given.
I know Pepe said stuff about the change in coach, but at the end of the day, he's still the same guy and he was getting worse at the basics.

Mignolet right now is also failing to do the basics. No GK coach is going to make you start fucking up basic GK jobs. His main redeeming feature was his shotstopping in spite of hos shortcomings, now he can't even do that right
I would honestly let Wijnaldum jizz in my face right now

I love him, but he needed binning at the time, whether he's regained his form now or not

He was dreadful for what, 2 seasons?

Close to? He was. There hasn't been many goal keepers that were better with the ball at his feet, or distributing it from the back. His passes were like Alonso's from a punt out of his hands.

Can anyone explain to me why incompetence is encouraged by FSG at Liverpool? The infamous TC and scouting network have repeatedly shown themselves to be clueless in the recruitment of players to improve LFC and yet they remain. All our all goalkeepers have regressed or struggle since Achterberg has been training them, he remains & Mignolet gets a new bumper 5 year deal. We are unable to conduct transfer negotiations, yet Ayre or whoever does this side of things remains. All together its ended up with us having the worst Liverpool side in the Premier League era & looking like we'll be languishing in mid table for the foreseeable future. Then they put up the ticket prices, the club is on its arse.

Phil, Danny and Divock are coming back in the next week or so. Thank fuck for that. I know Milner and Lallana contributed today but a front tree with them to in it and our average midfield three shows how far we really are behind.

Great to see many walking out on the 77th... no fans, no football!

Regarding the match. Firmino was obviously the standout player, and was the only advanced player with any ounce of creativity. The defence was just shockingly bad again, with Mignolet in such poor form I wonder if that puts the jitters around the defensive line. Anyway, it is Sunderland, this should have been in the bag with 10 minutes to go.

I'd not be surprised if Klopp was ruthless during the summer and ended up getting rid of most of the so-called senior players.

Reina was Spains best keeper for about 6 years, the fact Casillas and Valdes played for the teams they did deprived Pepe of about 70 caps.

Is there any keeper in the league you wouldn't swap Mignolet for? I haven't been following some of them, but I would take my chances.

Cech/Ospina (Arsenal)
Hart (Man City)
de Gea (Man United)
Guzan? (Villa)
Boruc (Bournemouth)
Begovic/Courtois (Chelsea)
Howard (Everton)
Schmeichel (Leicester)
Krul (Newcastle)
Ruddy (Norwich)
Forster/Stekelenburg (Southampton)
Butland (Stoke)
Mannone (Sunderland)
Lloris (Spurs)
Fabianski (Swansea)
Gomes (Watford)
Adrian (West Ham)
No idea (West Brom)
Speroni (Crystal Palace)

I'm a definite YES, WOULD SWAP on 17 out of 19. Howard is iffy and I can't remember the West Brom keeper, but I'd probably gamble on those two as well. Some of their second and third choices are probably more capable than Mignolet even.

Everything goes past him and even on his best days he is devoid of confidence with poor distribution. The conclusion is that it's simply not acceptable for us to go into next season with him between the sticks if we have any sort of ambition whatsoever.

The amount of games we have is causing havoc too. Ideally if we only had a game a week we could drop some of this dross to give them the kick up the arse they need. With the amount of games we have we really need to use all the players available although as many have said the priority now are the cups so we need to get some kids into the team for the league games.

Simon Mignolet's quest to save a shot goes on.

did a couple against stoke though..

but yeah he was poor today again. the defence let him down too. really poor performance after the 1st goal came in. poor game management .
