Two shots in 70 minutes, some of that as a CM. Robbo had one in half an hour, Bradley had one, Virg and Ibou had one each. There might be a wider issue of too many long shots against low block teams....but thats not a Joe Gomez issue, thats everyone.

He played okay last night, apparently had the second highest SCA behind Luis. But I do think with Robbo back it should be him plus one of Gomez or Bradley at RB.

We'd have Trent, Dom and Salah all stepping on each others toes and no one exploiting the space. Then Joe comes in, keeps it really simple, stretches play and causes problems.

Yet somehow, we've decided to fuck that off and turn him into an inverted fullback when he's utterly incapable of doing so. He can't switch play, can't shoot, can't thread passes, has poor awareness and his brain seems to melt when given complicated instructions.

It feels like we've inverted him just to see if we can, rather than out of any logic or pragmatism.

I think he can okay the inverted role fine as he has many times this season. He should have been subbed today, wasn’t at his best. Mentally or physically he is tired.

I'm not even crazy about Trent inverting because I love his wide play but Joe doing it is insane. When he plays wide he's actually a decent crosser of the ball.
