Great stuff PoP. Just one question. Why are you saying we wjll be missing Bobby Grant ?. He might not get picked but surely Gerrard's ban is over ?
And those formations with Ibe in ? Don't make me say it !!

There were so many bans, I got confused about whose was over :D

Haha nice one POP. If Lovren is Jimmy Corkhill, who's Cracker? Markovic?

Joe Allen's quite well spoken, he's probably the Max Farnham of the squad.

                                   Migs

           Can                Skrtel                Lovren

                     Lucas            Allen
Johnson                                                     Moreno

                 Henderson
                                       Coutinho

                          Sterling

Sub : Sturridge

I struggled with the RWB spot, but I can't see Rodgers sticking Sterling in that spot, its  a total waste, and even more so if Daniel is not 100%, in which case its better if he comes on and influences the game, which could go for 120 minutes on an energy zapping field.

Johnson offers the only experience for the RWB position - and he's done okay.

He is injured I beleive.  (or cup tied) - but yeah, if he does play, then Henderson Lucas and Can will just have to foul him.

   Can Skrtel Lovren Moreno
               Lucas
Coutinho Hendo Allen Sterling
             Sturridge

No Johnson & can easily change to a back 3. Henderson RWB.
Gerrard to start for Sturridge if applicable. Change to 3421.
I prefer that we start with a back 4 so that Lucas can take Benteke out of the game.
We also lose a lot going forward in a back 3 as our wingbacks don't offer much of an attacking threat.
With Coutinho on the right he can play those magical diagonal passes to Sterling on the left.

Just a note regarding Villa aka the 'biggest club in the Midlands' aka the club who has a pitch invasion for winning an FA Cup Quarter Final!

One of my best mates (not a member or ST holder or anything) rocked up at Villa Park this morning and simply brought a ticket for this Sunday's game! They've not sold out yet apparently!!

Delighted we have Close to a full squad to choose from ...

Such a huge game I'm expecting Rodgers to start Gerrard even if most don't think so.

Brookside to win....with a spine of Big mick from the pizza shop at centre back(heyyy), Corkhill scheming (as long as he stays away from "those flaming drugs") in midfield and Sinbad (I met him in the airport in Rome on my Honeymoon in 2006...highlight of my life...meeting Sinbad not the honeymoon) up front we cant go wrong.

We bury Timmy under the patio at Wembley at full time and we're all set for the final.

Tim's gonna get them pumped for this. If they attack us, they could get torn to shreds....If we have a striker on the pitch, that is.

Don't suppose anyone knows what our biggest winning margin without Sturridge playing is?

Is the 3-0 at Spurs the biggest winning margin we've had this season?

Along with the 4-1 against Swansea, yes. We're long overdue to have a game where we really hook it up and thump someone, though time's running out on this season...

Glad Lee Mason is only the fourth official for this and will have no say in the game. He was an abomination on Monday for both teams, not for the first time this season either.

Maybe the QPR game, assuming Sturridge's legs haven't fallen off or anything.
Or if Reading somehow get to the final.
Nice 7-0 final victory. Gerrard hitting the first from 40 yards. Lucas scoring a hat-trick.

Why oh why oh why did we allow Ibe to play cup games on loan when it was so obvious that we'd switch to three at the back mid season and that it would only really kick into gear with the return of young Jordan? FSG have a lot to answer for.

Shababs salaama

There are strange things happening at the house, the wife is very busy with her new fragrant Indian, plenty of action with yoga, burning of smelly sticks and plenty of banging and humming coming from her room.

She as kindly taken some time to review and predict this game against the Villains of the Midlands. The Tea leaves look promising they have indicated a long game, possibly extra time, with us coming through as victors in the end like the Unicorn from the wilderness.  There will be a new moon which will enable us to see the Ring of Fire from Earth. Saturn, Orion and Gemini are our dominate planets and with the Rings of Fire from Saturn and the Hunter Orion (Courtinho) and the Gemini twins (Sturridge and Sterling) these will all play prominent parts in the game.

The game will be back and forth with the ball being bang against their box, by us looking to open up the hole and penetrate from deep. They will want to play a game of submission and will give in to our advances. They will want to try and turn us over and get into us from the back and behind using a set piece move.  We must use protection especially in front of our hole.

The early part of the game the fire will seem to be out for us, but we must continue to fan the coals, may be a change of personnel will be needed for us to start the fire.  A Special individual who as the skill and technique from childhood, will light up the Ring of Fire.

Aston Villa 1 - 3 Liverpool. (AET)

That's how they rolled Inshaallah

Skrtel has that many staples in all his various skull wounds that surely he must be Tinhead.

I'd have Manquillo down as Rachel Jordache as well - probably a fair bit of potential there once the puppy fat gets shed.

NOT LOVREN obviously!!

Obviously depends who's on the pitch but in terms of who have taken them for us before (actually scrap that given the Boro shoot out!...), but in terms of those who have been in the first choice 5 before and you'd have confidence in:

Lambert/Balotelli (on the assumption that one but probably not both would be on the pitch at the end of extra time)
Lucas
Johnson
Allen
Henderson
Lallana (will he still be injured)

Wouldn't overly fancy Sterling or Sturridge (if fit). No idea on Markovic, Moreno or Coutinho.

How we handle Benteke is going to be the key to this game (at the risk of stating the bleeding obvious!).

I can see us scoring at least 2 or 3 against them but Benteke has proven a nightmare for us in the past and is bang in form the last month or so.  Is Skrtel back for this or is he still suspended?

Skrtel and Gerrard are both back from suspension. Sakho is definitely out injured. Not sure on Sturridge or Lallana.
