After looking at the earlier posts, buying a Spitfire model kit to have a go. I used to do these with my Grandad when I was a nipper, so quite looking forward to trying again.
Until I get glue everywhere, stick something on backwards, paint the tabletop etc and this post moves to the "small things in life that annoy you" thread
Ha ha, that's all part of the experience.
Did you get a 1:72 scale? I forgot how small they are - I got a MkI Spit from the kids for Christmas a few years back and couldn't believe how tiny it was. We bought the eldest a MkV the same Christmas, he was about 5 or 6, had a great time building it with him. I was rooting in the drawers in our room yesterday and found an un-built Messerschmidt ME109 we bought the lad, but he wasn't interested any more.
I spent over £30 on Saturday night, found an online model shop and ordered all the paints I need for the Huey, 15 in total and also some brushes. I also spent another £10 ordering a spray can of Olive Drab, I'm spraying the body as its 50cm long..
I also ordered these for my youngest, a 1:72 Spitfire and a 1:72 ME109, both diecast, £2.99 delivered. Just order the first set, then cancel the subscription.
