Not entirely sure where this myth came from that I would run a World Cup 2018 draft! I was only ever interested in running an all-time sheep draft. But my life is VERY busy right now, so I can't commit the time to that. I liked this idea best from a few pages back -
But the level of work needed to organise this is a bit mental. You'd need someone very dedicated to tallying up the scores etc. Unless there's a way of stealing the data from another fantasy football game and grafting it onto this. With the draft format the main difference.
Huh fair enough. I was sure someone said they’d got a special all planned out for the World Cup so to hold fire until they released it. Assumed it was you but can’t find any trace of that message now.
So what do people want to do? Anyone up for running the draft where we take the statistics from the actual games? I would but I’m off on holiday after the groups so would be next to useless.
If not what format could we do? Could do a version of the above but simplified massively to make it easier to run.
I’m thinking points for progressing rounds and a tie breaker could be the goals scored in the team selected.
Or if we wanted to do a voting draft like normal with the odd rule. Maybe have say you have to select a player from each group and each represented confederation (so you need an African, South-American, North or Central American, European and Asian but also need one from every group).
Could make it an all time draft from World Cups although this basically becomes an All time draft, so could say all time winners?
Any other thoughts?
