It's only an approximation. If you watch the video the roof truss is up in the air for about six days whereas it will actually be lifted in a day. They have probably re-programmed since producing that video. There's a massive risk in doing it the way the video shows as they have to clear the supports for the upper tier. Makes much more sense to place the truss first with a lower lift and less risk. Then build the upper tier supports once the truss is in place.

The only way to know if they are on programme is to see the contractor's detailed construction programme.

They're about where they should be.

Alan i think your right it makes sense to lift the truss first then complete the top section.

Anyway will call again at the weekend and see what progress has been made this week.

The towers are now going up to support the truss. Not much to them to be honest. Couple of days each. The truss,which is nearing completion will then go on. This will take place in about a fortnight I'd guess. As others have already said and I agree I'd assume the reason the top seating sections haven't gone on is because it would only make the lifting of the truss more problematic than it already is. I don't think we're behind on the project at all.

I'm hoping the club or the echo do a special time lapse for the lift. They recently did one at Bristol City which was well documented by the club.

went today and got lucky they where lifting and fitting the end pieces to the truss.

if you look closely you will see where the giant pins will locate to hold the truss on top of the towers

I think the official line is they'll see how the expanded Main Stand works out and then make a decision about the Anfield Road end...

...but there's been speculation they might not bother doing the Anfield Road end. It seems the potential extra income won't justify the cost. This speculation might be bollocks of course.

Might be true, might not. A year or so ago we were being told with confidence that FSG had no intention of doing the Main Stand.

It is an absurdly bid stand. Really do think those at the back will need binoculars.

Impressive though.

In saying that, whenever I look at the photos it looks a little wonky. May just be my bad leg?

The two massive cranes needed to lift the truss in place have started to arrive on site.

hopefully will get to the ground over the weekend to do an update.

Update as promised, Truss now nearly completed.

pic 1, One of the massive cranes being assembled.
pic 2, When you have trouble getting a piece of truss to budge.
pic 3, You use this and a bloody big hammer.
pic 4, Sorry for the poor quality forgot to get a close up but some of the delay could be down to the fact they have a lot of steelwork to clean up and paint/repaint
