Topic: 2013-2014 Season in GIFS!

We've got a seasonal pics thread, and a videos thread, why not a Gifs thread?
Would be a great visual reminder of the 2013-2014 season if we had a thread solely dedicated to gifs incorporated goals/skills/funny moments etc of the current season (probably should have thought of this at the beginning of the season as we'd have a more chronological visual reminder, but it is what it is  ).

We've got some talented contributers on RAWK that have already posted some cracking gifs. I'll start it off with a more recent gif that was one of my favourite of the season.

What if we just linked to where the gifs were (and titled accordingly?) More of a database of a thread leading to the gifs of the season? I'd always much rather they were all in one location, instead of alongside the pics only.

Like so:
Mar 16 Manchester United 0-3 Liverpool

Mar 30 Liverpool 4-0 Tottenham Hotspur

Edit: we seem to already have a non-footballing gifs thread, why couldn't we have a Liverpool gifs thread?

I think that's a good idea. JMc commented on the slow loading issue and it's a real hassle for me in the main pics thread.

So I would suggest either your links-only idea, or at least the OP's idea of a separate LFC gifs thread. But that's just me with my slowish internet connection, and I may be in a tiny minority.

I get slow loading on grouped GIF's as well but I just tend to let the page load in the background. Think it's a good idea to keep the GIF's separate from the picture thread.

Gifs are just about the worst thing that's ever happened.

Does RAWK support HTML5 videos yet? Using something like http://gfycat.com/, you get a HTML5/gif option, and the HTML5 video is generally around 5-10% of the size, with zoom/speed options to boot.

Yeah, obviously I let it load in the background too. But sometimes - usually - it still never quite makes it. And it seems to stop some other pictures loading too. Like only 4 out of 6 normal (non gif) pictures in one person's post will show up. So I don't even know they're there until I reload the page and go through the same long-winded process, or 'quote' each post and look to see how many links there were.

I should say that I LOVE all the gifs of our goals etc and I'm HUGELY grateful to the people that go to the trouble of making them and posting them here. That's why I've not mentioned anything before. But I think this new idea is a good un.

Er, right, cheers mate... you don't seem to really understand HTM5 videos, but that's okay, they are relatively new I guess. They are 10 times better than gifs I assure you, did you actually try that link on your phone? It loops the same as a gif, is generally compatible with all browsers (including phones), and is a a fraction of the size of a gif. Plus the option to zoom, pause, slow down, speed up etc.

Yeah, this is a bit of a shit thread if it's just links instead of them being posted to be honest. In my opinion  I want to be overwhelmed

Issue here is the resolution of GIF. If we are to post good quality and high resolution GIFs then their size will be little higher and hence will load up slower for people with low bandwidth/processing power. On the other hand, reducing resolution will solve the problem but GIF will looks like shit. I personally prefer the high quality ones. Choice is yours

Nah that doesn't work and I'd say goes beyond the point.

It's always the problem with trying to start Goliath-like threads, trying to get the next big thread... Sometimes it just doesn't work in practice.

I don't know, I personally would rather just see gifs spring up here and there, sparse and unexpected, rather than see people try and win the thread with gifs. Sort of devalues it a little.

Would have been far easier if we'd started from Game 1, We've scored 90+ goals, so creating a chronological order of our goals would take some time. As it is, we can at least organise the final 5 games
