He means our next deal will be worth more than we’re getting from NB now, and of course it will be worth more than we’re getting now, which I believe is something like £25-30m a season.

But isn’t there the scope in the contract to double that with our own sales going back to the club not NB , that why we turned down Nike and Adidas

Think Nike made a bid to make the kit when the Addidas deal was up, however Nike wanted total control of the Leisurewear section, we refused, so binned them off, then Warrior/New Balance came in, allowed us to keep Leisurewear in house, & that'll be one of the main considerations when negotiating the new kit deal.

Not just the leisurewear, they take control of the club stores (which we’ve built up a big chain of now) and the websites - we won’t be giving away control of them unless its a ridiculously good deal.

City are moving to Puma, which leaves Nike without a club in the North West, Adidas are taking Arsenal off Puma too.

Under Armour will be sniffing around for a marquee name too.

Hadn’t seen that about Nike/City, can’t see us going with them though. Guess Puma are replacing Arsenal with City if that’s the case, again can’t see Puma being able/looking to splash cash on two big deals. The £50m being reported for City is also less than we’re likely getting now between the cash and control of the leisurewear/shops/website elements.

UA is an interesting one, not entirely sure what their football plans are though.

Wasn't that story about Adidas taking over the Arsenal contract an April Fool's story?

I hope we stay with New Balance, over all I've really liked their kits and think they've got the last two seasons spot on. I think the red home, white or black away and neon third are a decent combination. Really like the colour of this seasons home too, be interesting to see if it is used again next year.
I would hope whoever we go with we are their 'big' team and as others have said get first choice of designs, for that reason plus the store/merchandising I can't see us going with anyone else unless it's a huge offer.
Not wanting to derail the thread, but Arsenal going with Adidas would possibly mean some of their classic late 80s/early 90s kits being remade which would be popular with their fans. A lot of gunners I know have fond memories of those kits, it's not just us living in the past 🤣
I am a man of few words.....any questions?

It was more we could double our yearly £25m with sales , with Nike it was a set fee and like Utd they would have wanted  there own staff in our retail shops

Indeed, like Kitbag run the Everton store in Town don't they, pay Everton a fee, but Kitbag keep all the profits from the store, where as we run the stores & keep all the profits.

Going by personal experience I have always thought that playing in red does offer a bit of an advantage somehow, especially if your keeper is wearing it.

This season it does look like we are getting better results in the orange kit. Fair enough, we are genuinely improving as a team regardless of kit colour. But I do wonder if orange being quite close to red has played a part?

In terms of fashion I don't like orange (does anyone?) but if there was a genuine statistical advantage to it I would accept it becoming our default away colour. We could then use the traditional away colours for a 3rd kit or get the training gear to look more like the old away kits.

I doubt we will get any leaks this year too?
