If our pre-season had gone like theirs I would be worried. These aren't great teams they're playing and they just haven't turned up.

Please let Wigan turn them over on Sunday. It could make all the difference just having a lack of morale in the camp.

Isn't Bolt meant to feature for them in that game? I'll probably tune in just for that.

Even most Everton fans think he is not good enough for there midfield. Felliani and Baines I can sort of understand but Osman?? Might as well go and buy Anichebe and Jelavic  because he thinks RVP is not good enough

Usain Bolt? That has to be worth a watch!

Or is it Bolt the Dog? Maybe he's next on the list after Osman?

Means sod all as it's pre-season and you'd want to be a bit of a numpty to presume anything based on friendly results but I'm sure Moyes would
have liked a couple more positive results from these games.

Yokoham F. Marinos 3-2 Man Utd
Cerezo Oska 2-2 Man Utd
Kitchee 2-5 Man Utd
AIK 2-2 Man Utd

Last season's summer tour before they won the title:

Amazulo 0-1 Man Utd
Ajax Cape Town  1-1 Man Utd
Shanghai Shenhua 0-1 Man Utd
Valarenga 0-0 Man Utd
Man Utd 0-0 Barcelona
It's true to say that if Shankly had told us to invade Poland we'd be queuing up 10 deep all the way from Anfield to the Pier Head.

They are starting to resemble a team managed and coached by David Moyes.
:lmao classic!

I know its only pre-season and results can be deceptive but they've only won 2 out of 6 games. I'd be a bit concerned if I was them

I doubt that will be played competitively at all, charity shield two days later and usain bolt playing for united. A 1 -1 draw with AIK is where they are at the end of pre season, malmo are about the same level and Swansea hammered them 4 - 0. It would be hilarious if Wigan turned them over in the charity shield.

Wow....Paddy Crerand has just said Antonio Valencia going to Benitez' funeral was a "daft little thing that's disrupting our pre-season''.

How the fuck is that man still even in a job.

Crerand is a massive fuckwit and always has been; what a twattish thing to say.  :wanker

It's clearly a wind-up mate. Funny because when I went back to Ireland for a visit, I spent the time teasing my Manc brother about getting Felliani, Hibbert and Osman  :D
It would be a Paul Stewart, Istvan Kozma, Paul Konchesky, Christian Poulsen type signing if Moyes was daft enough to go for it!

Cut-and-pasted from the Spurs thread, because my question is more relevant here.

PoP, I notice you described it as Meulensteen's training session, rather than Ferguson's. Was Ferguson less hands-on that way, leaving the coaching to the coaches? As compared to Moyes? If so, what impact do you think Ferguson might have on Moyes' methods, given that Ferguson is planning to hang around the club?

Are these training sessions available publicly? Apologies if it's deep in the thread but I've only just started reading it.

And the smokescreen has finally lifted:

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/aug/07/marouane-fellaini-manchester-united-everton?CMP=twt_gu

Cesc bids were all bullshit.
More likely that Moyes & Woodward met to discuss targets and Moyes told Woodward to go for Fellaini. Woodward didn't write it down, got distracted by a call from the Glazers or by a photo being taken with their new Official Elastic Band Partner. He got back to his office and realised he'd forgotten the name but remembered it began with F. So he googled 'midfield players beginning with F' and Fabregas was the first name on the list. So he rings Barcelona and makes a bid. They laugh at him and put the phone down.

Moyes sees the media reports and assumes that Fabregas is just a smokescreen. Then he asks how the Fellaini transfer is going. Ed, realises he's screwed up but doesn't want to admit it, with being new in the job, and says "It's at a delicate stage Davey but I think we're getting there." As soon as he's on his own, he rings his PA saying "Get me Bill Kenwright. Quick."

Classic Moyes.  Bid for a player you have no hope in hell of signing then pick up a mediocre player last minute and portray it as a major victory.  ;D
