Tomb Raider (360, PS3, PC)
« on: February 25, 2013, 10:50:23 am »
No, I haven't woken up from a coma I fell into in 1997, there is a reboot of the game coming out on 5th March and it looks (imo) very good.

Published by Square Enix and developed by Crystal Dynamics, this is a reboot of a franchise, a very gritty reboot.

Some videos:

Tomb Raider handed a 90/100 by GamesMaster

The first review for Tomb Raider has come to light, courtesy of the latest issue of GamesMaster magazine.

According to the monthly: “Sitting back exhausted we were left with just one question dribbling forth from our gaping jaws. How on earth are they going to top this in the sequel? Because of one thing there can be no doubt. Lara is back.”

The magazine said it will take 10-15 hours to finish the main campaign, but if you want to explore the entire island, prepare to mark 20 hours off your schedule.

It was awarded a 90/100.

Tomb Raider is due on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 March 5.

Football without fans is nothing.

We've won 18 titles, 5 European Cups, 7 FA Cups, but today must be the greatest victory of all.

First reviews are coming in and it's looking good. Was never a fan of the originals so will probably miss this one, but there's no denying it looks decent. Two 9/10s in the two reviews I've read.

Getting very excited now. I'm glad a few are only dropping points because of multiplayer.

Lets hope it lives up to expectation.

If ever a game didn't need multiplayer. So many games with perfunctory and unecessary multiplayer-modes tacked on these days. It almost always critically hurts the game and has next to no community still playing a few months down the line. Dead Space 2 springs to mind.

develop shite multiplayer or spend those resources on a few more levels for the full game, makes you think why they bother, they probably though Uncharted has multiplayer so we need it as well

uncharted multiplayer was shite

Edge 8/10?? Must be amazing, they only seem to give decent scores to obscure japanese games. Re first Tomb Raider, I remember dropping through a hole in the floor only to find myself stood on the head of an enormous underground Sphinx and then hearing a nerve shredding roar from somewhere in the darkness below, shat pink, fabulous gaming moment.

There was originally a scene/sequence where one f the enemies would attempt to rape Lara. It was cut out of the game after vociferous opposition.
