Sorted Udinese for a good price. Struggling for decent flight prices to Switzerland. Found a round about way of getting there cheap but it involves a inter country train journey which is coming out at about a third of the price of internal swiss trains. its off a site called Raileurope. Has anyone used them before cos the fare seems too good to be true.
Don't want to book flights if the train journey is a scam

Any feedback would be welcome thanks

Never used Raileurope but pretty sure a mate did and said they were sound.
Swiss inland train tickets are available from www.sbb.ch or at the station directly and they ARE expensive as fuck (Zurich Airport to Bern around 40 quid).
Up until a couple of years ago you could get a day pass for that amount of money, but you need to have that railcard Gaz mentioned earlier, now.

Hi all

appreciate the mods ask for flight information not to be mentioned on the forums, but just intrigued in which town/city majority are staying for the Young Boys game as I am travelling on my own so want to stay somewhere where I can get some bevvies and bit of atmosphere.

only issue i found with raileurope is there prices don't reflect the true rate of exchange from swiss francs to pounds, my first train is 38 swiss francs which i make is £26, rail europe wanted to charge me £28 to £31.

booked here just now instead and printed out my own tickets https://www.sbb.ch/ticketshop/b2c/adw.do?125

Thanks for reply. It just seems strange to me that I can get a train ticket from another country into berne for less than £20 but it cost double that from Zurich to Berne.
Think I'll take a gamble and book it.

I used Rail Europe for a TGV train Lyon - Nimes in April. Brilliant service and they send tickets out the same day. I would pay the postage fee to get them delivered just so you don't have any issues with self service machine etc. Definitely recommend!

Thanks, I'll do that
Early kick off now so will have to recheck train times. Make sure I can still get there in time

Can anyone tell me what chance I have of making the Young Boys game my first European away game? I obviously don't have any away credits but I don't start uni until after the game so I thought I'd try and make the most of my time off.

My guess is you will have absolutely no chance of getting a ticket through the club. Being the first game that counts for loyalty even people not going will buy tickets if they qualify unfortunately

I'm guessing our allocation will be around the 1600 mark. Normally for early group games there are spares floating about once you get over there, so it might be worth the gamble of traveling

Mr pickwicks is a massive rip off. Loads more expensive than the regular bars and restauranta you'll find scattered around the old town. There's one righr next to that bear park which brews its own ale. gonna stick to 'local' boozers myself.

Good advice gnaume, it's costing enough to get there with the train travel / car hire on top of the flights plus hotels none too cheap.
