So potentially a January loan to somewhere he's allowed to play with a view to that club paying a fee for him eventually?

What a bizarre way for them to frame this. The ICD is what would potentially keep him alive and allow him to play with minimum risk.

Fair enough if they are super cautious and don't want anyone with a serious heart condition to play (even with the reduced risk). But surely it's the underlying condition and not the treatment that is the issue.
