My opinion would be that Aquilani would be better suited to open teams up like that rather than Charlie Adam. Aquilani is a better passer of the ball and he passes it at better pace.

Whether he can or not, and I don't think he can, sadly Aqua doesn't get enough minutes on the pitch to do anything. You just can't rely on him to stay fit.
We're on our way to glory...

The difference between Adam and say raul, aquilani is very little when they're all on song, but consistency wise adam is what we need. We need to be tougher and all our players turn up away from home.

Are you basing that 'consistency' on his truly magnificent 45% pass completion against Blackburn this year?
Rossiter absolutely bossed it tonight. Really believe he'll end up playing more games this season than Lucas.

Henderson won't make it here. Sorry but he won't and won't

he was their best player last season, surely that is consistant?

You can be a teams best player without being consistent.

I'm not knocking Adam's ability because most people know where I stand and I know where most people stand, but consistency you can't say is an advantage to him.

Good little player.
From here on in its all FSG's doing. Good or bad they will stand or fall by the decisions they have made in the summer of 2012. Lets hope they have gotten it right.

I haven't seen that, I'm a big fan of Aquilani but for us he was better deployed behind a striker or two strikers, not in a deep holding midfield role because he can't tackle at all, and Adam is just as good a passer generally and a better passer of the ball over distance for me.

Hope you're right about Adam as I reckon Aquilani is a better passer than him.
We have to change from doubter to believer. Now.

Am I the only one who is a bit gutted.  I just don't see what all the fuss is about.  He'll be better than Spearing on the bench, but for me Gerrard, Lucas, Meireles and Aquilani are all better than Adam. :(

I agree with the above. It's why it seems wasteful. I'd rather both Meireles and Aquilani ahead of Adam but I have a hunch Kenny is going to play Adam a fair bit more than a bench player.

Adam is hardly the target for consistency.

Again not sure if you are on a wind up, he was one of the best players in the league last year, consistently Blackppol's best player delivering week in week out top performances contributing good play, assists and goals, save for a short period after he was denied his move to Anfield and when he was suspended/injured.

Another CM we simply did not need. It's a testament to Dalglish's effect and popularity that the 2 transfers this window have been largely palatable to the fans. Had Hodgson signed them we'd be livid.

Nope.

Besides, at least Kenny knows what to do with these lads! If Roy bought them they'd only see the underside of the ball sailing over head...

Welcome Charlie!

If we played a 4-2-3-1 formation with Lucas, Adam, Aquilani and Gerrard in the side, I don't think the opposition would be able to get the ball from too much passing and with Suarez running circles around their defence.

That, in my opinion, would be a great team to unlock teams that park the bus.

Wow.

Totally failing to realise that there is more than one type of central midfielder. Lucas will be playing regularly simply because he does a particular job better than anyone else at the club i.e. track back, get a foot in, break up play. Every successful team in the history of the EPL had had one of these, Viera, Keane, Makalele, McMahon, Souness.

Adam will be competing with the likes of Stevie G, RM for the other central spot, given that we will be signing a winger and most likely play something close to 4-4-2, Kenny's preferred formation, I can't see him getting much field time.

Hope you're right about Adam as I reckon Aquilani is a better passer than him.

Nah, Adam's passing is superb. His pass completion rate mentioned by others falls down sometimes because he often tries difficult passes that create chances and goals, not safe balls all the time. You need players like him who can pull off amazing passes like shown here:

Really have you been on RAWK for any part of this transfer window.
Hell we have Carroll who's played a game or 2 for us being branded as pointless.

Welcome to our new fandangled generation of fans. Yay us!

It's official, we have become a chosen club for "Bandwagoners".

I blame the FSG/RedSox connection as that club has the highest number of new/know nothing supporters. For most, the RedSox didn't exist before 2004. I suspect that for many of our new supporters, LFC did not exist before 2010.
The one most important thing that we all must remember, in case it slipped our mind, is this club is much more important and bigger than anybody. I'll never forget that and anybody that does is being a wee bit irresponsible and stupid I think because the club is more important than any one individual. The Club is, The Club.
