Every time I watch that game, I'm still convinced Shevchenko's gonna score! Three times Jerzy said "no" and Big Ears was ours for keeps.

Wish Jerzy all the best of luck in whatever he does after his retirement from football, double save from Shevchenko will stay in our heart and minds for ever.

Good luck in the future Jerzy.

What a guy.

I remember the double save in the final. Not for the first time in that competition, time seemed to stand still.

I remember saying to myself "good save" on the first one but then"oh well, they'll score the rebound... We did amazingly well to get to extra time". But then he saved it. Stunned does not cover it.

This has been said 10000000 times before, but that match was the most magical game in the history of the sport, and Dudek was the hero of it. And let that be his legacy.

Every time I see that save, I just think how the fuck did it not go in. How? It just has to, it's almost impossible for it not to!

Well in Jerzy.

Hate the argument by some that the double save he knew nothing about. He put his hands up to block it, and they did. That's how a save works. Of course it needed some luck but he pulled off the greatest save of all time there, no doubt about it in my mind :D.

Utter club legend and not just for 2005, one of the best shot stoppers i've ever seen. League cup final 03 and a few other seasons cemented that view. enjoy the well earnt retirement :wave . Loved his story in "one night in may" think his wife or someone was in the hospital soon after the final for some reason and while going through a man reconised him, explained he was a liverpool supporter who was in hospial for treatment of a heart attack which he suffered during the instanbul final, Jerzy was all like "very sorry for that" but the fan didnt care and just wanted to thank him for his heroics!

For me, That double save sums up everything thats epic about football and Liverpool

That save in Istanbul is just as unbelieveable as Gordon Banks' save in the World Cup in 1970 from Pelé's header

Best save ever.

He seems to have got a rep for mistakes, but I remember his first 18 months he was flawless....but when he made his first, he made a few.
Anyway, he's one to tell the grandkids in 40 years time, and for a footballer, there's probably no better compliment.
