Stevie's celebration and what it means
« on: February 25, 2011, 05:13:32 am »
Just embodies the spirit in the ranks right now. Everyone seems so much happier since Kenny came back. There's the serious business of football but it looks like everyone is just trying to have fun again.

So refreshing.

Good times are back my friends. Wherever we end up this season, next season we're going to really rock and roll.

Pissed or not, it's hard to imagine scenes like this taking place since the 2008-2009 season.

The whole club is together as one, and we all know how dangerous we can be when this happens.

Yeah. That was exactly the point I was making.

Great to see this happening again.

Stevie's celebration was excellent. Shows exactly what it meant to him.
Recorded the game and watched some of it again this morning purely to watch this, brilliant. Stevie and boxer Paul Smith going bonkers  ;D

Nah, looked like genuine excitement for the team. There was a bit earlier on in the match where he was on the edge of his seat and nearly jumped out of it when Lucas nearly scored. It's great to see and I hope we get to see that excitement and passion on the pitch again soon.

Seriously, a good year or two since we saw anyone, bar Stevie, being that happy after the team scoring a goal.

Like another poster here, I went back and just watched that moment and my day has been great ever since =D

okay enough of this, only thing I know is it probably could only get better!

In the corridors and changing rooms of Anfield I met many people - the great, the talented, the legendary.  I know that I only met one genius.  He was a small, smiling man with a neatly clipped beard.  His name was Rafael Benitez.

Football without fans is nothing.

We've won 18 titles, 5 European Cups, 7 FA Cups, but today must be the greatest victory of all.

Great to see it from him.  The upbeat feeling emanating from the club is such an amazing turnaround from a few weeks back.

Maybe kenny's promised to take him to a westlife concert if he cheers up a bit? Joking aside, it's good to see him looking relaxed, there's been far too many ocassions over the last few years where he's appeared to have the weight of the world on his shoulders. I can imagine with Kenny being in charge, his calmness and dry sense of humour has put them all at ease, hopefully stevie can get a run of games together, starting sunday!

Must have had some decent odds and a few quid on it.

Celebration was class, drunk or not, he's clearly very passionate.

He had exactly the same smile when Lucas scored from outside the box against Steaua or Kuyt scoring the penalty against West Ham can't remember which one but it has been seen before recently.

Agree with this. I see no reason for the negativity on these forums, but surely we must expect our captain to cheer when we score a winner with 5 minutes to go?

lol it was funny how he stuck his hands out and held his mates arms for a split second just before the ball hit the net, just like a proper fan in the stands.

initially i thought it was set up by kenny to improve morale at the club but it looked quite natural and he may well have had a few beers during the match :)
