Not a classic performance by any means, but onwards and upwards. Kelly was absolutely brilliant in the first half. Hope his and Agger's injuries are nothing too serious.

And, for what it's worth, without seeing a clear replay, my first impression was that Ngog has as much right to that shot as Cole. Cole did all the work but how often have you seen those dribbles where it just falls to a teammate who smashes it in right off the feet of the dribbler? Looked a very good save by their keeper, is all.

Okayish performance.Ngog was terrible,including taking that effort away from Cole at the end.Cole tried,wasnt very good though.

Got the result we needed, well pleased with Dirk, worried for Agger.

That Wilson has a good head on his shoulders, a nice left foot, and is more of an athlete than I expected. Feel a bit sorry for Pacheco; we could have used his ilk in the last 20 minutes when Sparta were tiring and inviting us forward.

Anyone suspended for the first leg of the next round as a result of today's bookings?

Hopefully Kelly, Agger and Johnson's injuries aren't serious. Poulsen was dire, Spearing 10x the player by this game. Gutted for Pacheco too.

I said we were going to win 1-0.

We are so frustrating at times, N'gog clearly lacks sharpness and he stole a goal from J Cole anyway the effort were there and the result in the end.

Think Kuyt deserves a MOTM even though he has a useless touch and decision making at times.

We're through and I hope we get Braga. Gerrard has to be back at the weekend if we want to continue our push forward up the table.
