How about Roy get his fucking act together.

Dreadful management to humiliate a player in the media. Do it in private.

The comparison of this with what happened between Bob Paisley and Ian Rush is not the same. As Al 555 recalls, what happened then occurred in private and in the managers office after Rush went to air his frustration and asked to be sold. Paisley agreed but never had any intention of doing so - he successfully used that anger as a tool to improve the players performances.

The point here? Rushie didn't let it slip until he published his first autobiography. None of happened in public.

agreed. rush said he was told he was being listed and went on to score 17 goals, even if he was playing for himself, it was great management and he was never transfer listed.
Slowly but surely the cogs of the red machine are beginning to turn again.

If you guys had to make a choice. Who would you rather have for Liverpool Football Club? Johnson or Hodgson?

Johnson's actually been good for us. He would thrive in the right attacking system and it'd be great if we employed it, but even if we don't, someone will find a use for him and turn him into a top-class full back.

Who would pay us for Roy?

I have never been happy with the abuse Hodgson has taken on here - heavy criticism is one thing, but abuse is just plain wrong.

But seriously, the guy is not helping himself. He does not conduct himself like the manager of a high profile club. It's getting very embarassing now.

I'd like someone to tell me one thing Roy is good at? Just one will do.

And don't say 'at being shit' because I'm going to cry.

Which makes it even more infuriating that Roy is putting the team and the fans in this position; I know he isn't the one who started airing our dirty laundry in the public domain but he seems so intent on upping it a notch.

this seems his MO doesn't it?

he feels the pressure from a poor result, gets irked at a press meeting then berates some target to shift the focus  (torres, agger, the younger players, the fans, rafa, johnson) then a day or so later makes a cowardly half arsed retraction which is really just another attempt to extricate himself from receiving flak

Well Nice one Roy, your brilliant man management skills are second to none!  Now johnson wants out, so lets say he goes for 8 mil and we loose another 10 million and bring in another non flair player.  Take a bow son.

Whatever happened to giving GJ a chance on the right midfield? I really think he can be a hit there. Look at Bale, never really made it as a LB but then they moved him up the pitch and now he's become one of the best.

You have the power, Roy.

Thank god for Johnson leaving in January then...that's the kind of flair and attacking ability that could get the fans excited.

Now, if only there was some way to get Konchesky to play at right back and left back at once.

Ive have never hated a manager so much, the thought that he thinks he is untouchable and is driving out all our talent to accomodate shite like konchesky and poulsen makes me want to ring by the neck. Glen, nando, pepe, agger, pacheco and other u deserve better than this man make your voices heard to john henry.

Roy once again proves he's the bigger man with that thoughtful and sincere apology. Well done, boss.
I must say I'm enjoying your most recent posts. It takes a certain kind of character to stand up to the baying mob.

For absolute authenticity you need to throw in a few sly digs at our previous manager and no matter how bad our results and performances are, point at the worst parts of last year. It's a our new benchmark.

I think Finn is being sarcastic but maybe that's just me. In terms of Roy, he is just a mess. It's sad to watch this shit happen to a Liverpool manager. A man completely out of his element. If we need till the summer to find his replacement, can the club at least put a media ban on him? It will seriously help.

Surely that's a bollocks rumour? If it's true get all over it. Johnson is better than Richards but Richards in the side plus £24m to spend on it is more beneficial.

Agree with this. Though, once Richards arrives, I see Johnson haters saying he can't defend; saying Richards can't attack. Comes down to an epic swindle.  ;D

Sell the best English attacking right back who can dribble at pace with the ball and get a player whose sole attribute is power? And who are we going to get to replace Johnson? It's only a good deal for City.

Johnson is probably our best player going forward; but with a budget of around 45m (if this rumour/rumor depending on country is true) we can surely buy attack minded players. I'll most likely wait until Roy leaves though; before he buys Poulsen v2.

Was one of the few players that did anything tonight. He must have ran about 15 miles up and down that wing.

It's not his fault the central defenders he plays with are BOTH shite.

Along with Joe Cole who had a go and perhaps Lucas I'd say Johnson was one of the few who was even borderline passable. Sorry I couldn't fault Agger or Kuyt either.

Usually agree with a lot you say mate but have to agree to disagree on Johnson. Never liked him, the poor defending isn't a myth and he's always got a concentration lapse in him.
