Lots of these have been mentioned, but I'm in a listy moodEcho + The Bunnymen - all time moody greatsWild Swans - moody greats that no one's heard ofPale Fountains/The Strands/Shack - Mick Head is a geniusIcicle Works/Ian McNabb - his solo stuff is quality, tooTop - had a decent album called Emotion Lotion, very "madchester", 1991The Hoovers - another early 90's pop/rock outfitThe Rain - quality early 90's band! Two smashing singles and a good album! The Real People - quality 90's britpop! Supposed to have something new out soon...The La's/ Cast - enough said reallyPete Wylie/Wah - Heart as Big as Liverpool, what more can I say?Tambourines/16 TambourinesThe Pies - Underground nutters who seem to do more graffiti than songs. I have a 2 track cd single, which afaik is all they've ever releasedAmsterdam - fronted by Ian Prowse who has a cracking emotional voice, check out "Does This Train Stop on Merseyside?" Which is about Hboro...Anathema - death metal \m/Deaf School - art rock loonies. Also geniosThe Maybes? - Indie Rock, bit mediocreThe Troubadors - see aboveBenny Profane/The Room - 80's indiepopNot gonna mention all the pop shite like ATomic Kitten.VIPER records does 3 cd's of "Lost" liverpool tracks which are essential purchases if you ask me, you can order on their website
OT but bands who had no business singing about us:1.In Liverpool, Suzanne Vega She did,it's about a fella from Liverpool she met in America, hence the reason she loves the city.

Anyone remember The 25th of May - a White Scouse Marxist hip hop band if I recall.Think they were one of the first bands to record a song about Hillsborough, a song called "Why"They also got banned from playing a gig in Wolverhampton after threats from a few squaddies who took exception to a song called "Army 2 Joyriders 0", which criticized the British armies shooting of 2 joyriders in Northern Ireland. On a brighter note 2 people, This is the shirt - shoulda been a hit

Anyone who knows where I can buy the album The Journey as a brand new? I have searched anywhere and it seems like it's impossible to get brand new. I was so ufortunate to miss out at the sale after the great show at the Mathew Street festival yesterday because the records was sold out in no time. PS: What album is the number "Name and number" on?
Stealing Sheep starting to get some national airplay.Looking forwards to seeing Mugstar for the first time supporting Wooden Shjips and The Fresh and Onlys at the Kazimier on Tuesday
Styf, you can get The Journey from Amazon at the moment. Also the Pele album you can buy from Townsend records, if you go on the Pele website there is a shop section.
Have you looked at the new stuff from The Coral that has been released on youtube, some real gems Wrapped in Blue is brilliant.
Thanks for the help but I explored that opportunity by myself so I have now ordered fra Amazon but the record is used and not brand new.Are they going to come out with a new album or where is the number from?
The bunnymen are great as are the coral.Anyone remember the stands from a few years back, brilliant live but the albums are just a little too polished. Lead singer Howie Payne is brilliant and loads of new stuff on YouTube is great. Also love anything that Edgar Jones is involved in. Free Peace (or whatever they have changed their name to again) are quality
