A player Salamanca player collapsed during a game today (vs Real Betis) due to cardiac arrest. Thankfully the medics were quick on the scene and managed to restart his heart with defibrillators. He's recovering in hospital.

There's more on it here including footage of him collapsing: http://www.101greatgoals.com/salamanca-midfielder-miguel-garcia-has-cardiac-arrest-during-match-with-betis/70310/

Similar to what happened to that Sevilla player who died. There was also a problem with a Real Madrid player's heart, Ruben de la Red, with Real Madrid trying to worm out of paying him the rest of his contract because he can no longer play.

Hope this guy gets well soon. :(

Awful awful decision by the linesman there. Bilbao made a game of it and could of been a great 10 minutes but hes gone and ruined it

Unlucky ceros, you guys put up a good fight. I admire the way players restrain themselves from physically attacking officials after decisions like that.

We were robbed. The first penalty fine,  ok - it probably was a penalty - but the second? ... what a joke!

Thanks, rowan_d.

Fabiano and Kanoute scoring for Sevilla in their 4-3 win. Some strikeforce to have.
It's true to say that if Shankly had told us to invade Poland we'd be queuing up 10 deep all the way from Anfield to the Pier Head.

Villarreal looked very good tonight, they play some excellent stuff. In my opinion they are the best side outside of the top 2. Atletico were poor and should have started with Forlan.

All the pundits on Sky are insisting that Aguero has been horribly out of form recently, despite the fact that he was been out injured for the last 6 weeks or so.

Sure they do but, frankly, I'm surprised the referee didn't take the penalties (the second penalty, in particular) himself.

I watched some of the Madrid match on Saturday and they looked fairly strong. Ozil & Alonso are fantastic to watch though, majestic players.

Looking for some advice from any La Liga match goers!

I'm going to be in Malaga the weekend Almeria are playing at home against Barcelona and wouldn't mind going over there and catching the game.

The prices on the ticket websites seem pretty extortionate (like 150 euros!), and I can't seem to find where to buy tickets on Almeria's official website.

I'm wondering if it is worth just turning up, doesn't look like they sell out every game but I don't know if this will be the case with Barca.  If not can anyone recommend somewhere to buy tickets from.  It would be much appreciated.   :wave

So Madrid draw 0-0 tonight with Real Murcia (now right down in the regional leagues). Team put out was strong: Casillas, Ramos, Pepe, Albiol, Arbeloa, M Diarra, Granero, Pedro Leon, Canales, Ronaldo, Benzema. They even gave half an hour to Khedira, Di Maria and Higuain.

Agreed. Creative, Attacking players need someone to pass the ball to them in the first place
Socrates did have a habit of polarising opinion, as does Lucas. Lucas is also good at hemming opponents in and locking them into difficult situations.

No chance. His release clause is 32m, and we all know hard it is to negotiate with Athletic. It would be quality if we ever signed him, he's lethal in front of goal.

He said something along the lines that if they don't get the result against Murcia, the players who featured in the match will be dead for him.

Are they dead for him now? ;D

Anyone know if Mascherano is getting games at Barca? I haven't been following Barca news so I don't know if hes been playing recently.

Last I've heard of him was warming his arse on the bench.

Personally I don't really think Masch's abilities suit Barca's philosophy. He'd be awesome at Inter though.

The truth is that Busquets suits Barca far better than him. In general Masch has been playing in Europe and warming the bench in the league. But as long as Busquets is fit, Masch won't get into the starting XI.

Tickets go on general sale a week before the game. You should be able to get a couple from their website (which links here http://www.entradas.com/entradas/comprar-almeria).

Which, as much as I love Masch, is the right call. Busquets is massively under-rated IMO. He can tackle, he can pass, he can drop deep to form a 3 at the back with Puyol and Pique to allow Alves and Abidal/Maxwell to roam forward. He's fairly tall which means he can win it in the air far more than Masch can and he's handled the responsibility of playing in the Barca and Spain team very well indeed.
