Also a brand new series of the shuttleworths starts on may 12th.

Bloody Hell only 1 post in this thread. Let me oblige it with another.

Only discovered John Shuttleworth while SKY surfing late the other night and came across his 2001 Live standup show called 'One Foot in the Gravy' on the Sky Arts channel. I liked the look of it so SKY+ it.

Watched it all last night and I bloody loved it. Laughed my bollocks off at some of his stories. This guy is really funny and I love his style although I'm really struggling to describe it.  His songs and observations sometimes border on the ridiculous and do remind me of Vic & Bobs stuff at times.

The little songs he does on his cheap organ remind me of HMHB stuff, as the lyrics are pretty random but very funny.  One of his songs on last nights show was called "I feel like the man who lives on that farm in the middle of the M62". :)

Think I might try and get hold of his Radio shows to listen to in the car.

Anyone else (other than me or Tinner7777) like a bit of John Shuttleworth or any of other Graham Fellows characters?

Any Audio or DVD download recommendations ?

I'm a fan of John Shuttleworth, but he's quite elusive. He did some Yorkshire Tea ads a few years back. "Yorkshire Tea's the one for me" and he had a mini series on BBC2 - 500 Bus Stops, that was back in 1997 and was the first time I saw him. I haven't heard any of his radio stuff.

He did another song on his live performance I watched last night called Eggs & Gammon. Been stuck in my head all day.

He also did another character called Brian Appleton who is pretty funny.  He's a student at Newcasle-Under-Lyme college. A sorry character and occasional musician who claims to have launched the careers of many mega stars with no recognition. He did a brilliant impersonation of Morrisey on one of his own songs and claimed it was ultimately the inspiration for The Smiths stardom.

Defo want to see more of John Shuttleworth character though.

His radio shows are a must Pete. Well worth the money on his site. But if not there's a few torrents about. My own personnel favourites would be I'm a modern man and seven songs by midnight.
Appleton really funny. It's my turn to be poorly is a classic. He's just finished a live show tour so it should be out on cd soon. Try and get hold of 500 bus stops also prob on torrent somewhere

Cheers Tinner. All duly noted.:)

Love the song "I can't go back to Savory now"

Tells the tale of his wife Margaret's delicious Shepherds pie and how John couldn't eat his daughter Karen's unfinished portion due to him already have started eating his Treacle Sponge.

I can't go back to savory Now.
The Shepherds Pie was stunning....but I'm half way though my pudding
