« on: April 16, 2010, 11:28:28 am »
I know it's only a statement from Hicks & Gillett and we should tread with caution wherever these two bastards are concerned, but I think we should say a big thank you to you lads and all the other people on the SOS committee. Your work has never been in vain (people ignore the things for the local community you do, for starters) but I'm glad there's now a sign of your hard work coming to fruition.

We wouldn't be where we are now if it wasn't for your hard work, effort, diligence, commitment and intelligence - all in the face of some odd naysayers and negativity. Your media appearances and dealings with them have been exemplary and, without being a puntastic journalist - they've truly been in the spirit of Shankly and Liverpool Football Club.

YANKS OUT?

Let's fucking hope so eh?

Absolutely - not time for celebrations yet, but the SOS lads have put serious time and effot into this on behalf of all the members.

They should be applauded - statements or not.

Keep up the good work lads, and thanks :)

Fantastic work from SOS. Now is the time to be more vigilant than ever though.
those people were scared off by the distress chatter and the organised internet terrorism campaign that was directed against people involved.

Yes I think at the very least the SOS have speeded up the ousting of the two "custodians"

I also find it interesting that after Purslow's promises at his meeting with the SOS that he expected a deal by Easter. Here we are less than two weeks after that date and the americans have announced their departure. I hope that as our union the SOS can continue to make whoever the new owners are accountable to the fanbase.

Not just SoS but all those fans who have walked on the protests, stayed behind to protest and the 4500+ who have signed up to make it possible. But most definately SoS who have done unstinting work often at short notice. Brilliant.

Absolutely superb news and utmost respect and thanks to everyone who has worked so hard to get us here.

HOWEVER

The hard work starts now.  SoS needs to keep growing, SoS needs more members, SoS needs to be there to hold whoever the new owners are to account.  SoS needs to be their to represent our interests when it comes to ticketing in the new stadium.

IF the Americans go then there are a lot of people who, wrongly IMHO, see SoS as a one issue campaign group. Holding onto members and new ones will become harder without the twin ogres of Tom and George driving people into your arms.

Knuckle down for the long haul ladies and gents.

The Yanks may have inadvertently instigated the greatest thing to have happened to this club for many, many years.

Well said - throughout this whole shitstorm, there's been a single ray of light.

Hopefully this is just the beginning.

Every single tiny iota of protesting has all been worth it if they depart. Last week was the most vociferous I've been at, hopefully it tipped them over the edge.

Can only agree with this, well played lads. Although it's still early days and the work is far from over, everyone of us (anyone who's marched, protested, held up a card, emailed, sent a letter etc etc) can have a small sense of satisfaction today that we played our part.

......and could he play!
