Almost did a back flip on the ice yesterday.

And my sister nearly wrote her car off as she spun 180 and nearly slid into a bus...

Oh my city has made me laugh my ass off!

They just placed a message on their site saying my city has one of the best/ most innovative anti-slippery methods in whole Holland. They have sensors in the roads who tell/ predict slippery roads as well as us using German salt (apparently that's better ??).

The funny thing is though, my city was yesterday one of the 8-10 cities in the whole of Holland, who didn't have public transport (bus and train) because of the snow. The roads have never in my life been this impassable because the salt-spreaders simply can't handle it.
But it's always nice to know we DO have a great system going for us *cynical*.

Fuuuuuck! Fell asleep and awoke to find 3" outside and it's coming down fast. Needed to go down the shops to get some food but I'll be lucky I can get the car out of the drive. bleh. And I live on a hill with 1 other house and a tiny but steep road is the only access. It's sheltered by bushes so it'll get no sun and it's north facing. Too small for them to grit, I'll be living on rice and beans til I can get out.

just checked yahoo weather on my ipod and they reckon its going to be sunny down south in a lot of places on christmas day. yet where im living at the moment - a place that generally gets 5 days rain a year - its going to be fucking raining. cosmic irony at its finest.

Spent yesterday in a pub in front of a log fire watching it snow outside. That's a proper Xmas party. And was travelling home by train so I could watch the snow settle on the road completely dispassionately.

Left the Wirral this morning and it was a bit icy but no snow.
Been working in Aintree University, Fazakerley Hospital where it's been snowing for most of the day.
Just phoned the missus and she says it's still snow free on the Wirral..

Irony on a base level. Do people offer you a mug of tea in the winter? The lads who clean our stairs and halls were round before. First thing I said was " Fancy a brew lads " they said no. I felt like saying fuck off then !

Yesterday morning on the uni roundabout was fun, no sign of any grit whatsoever. i park my car just down the road that runs along side the Variety Pub. Trying to get up there after turning left down the side of the Adelphi was a nightmare, had to give up in the end, reverse back onto the roundabout, and go down moor lane, then go the wrong way town the one-way street to park my car.

Preston isn't forecast to get anymore snow, so fingers crossed the journey shouldn't be to bad. But when have the weather bods ever got the forecast right!

I've just had a look at Met Check and the forecast is for more heavy snow the early hours of Thursday morning. Hopefully I'll be tucked up in bed at mi mums. Will be great to build a snow man with the kids on Thursday.

Ha you get one or two grannies, but there is this woman she is a proper loon well known with a lot of posties and done a few of the drugs in her time. Asks me at least twice a week to come for a brew, I politely decline.. As I have places to be!

You can bet had it been a fit bird asking, those lads would have accepted
