The whole raison d'etre is to promote Gears and move applications online, rendering the OS choice redundant and thus nobble Microsoft's revenue stream. You can refuse to share information with google, and turn off the phishing filter.
You've convinced me. Might give it a whirl as I've been having this really annoying problem on both Firefox and Opera where I get 404 errors when the browser goes off to another random site looking for an image on the site in the active window....if that makes any sense!
E.g. if I am browsing RAWK and click on a link I get a 404 error. When I look at the site that served the 404 error, it will not be RAWK, but a different site that obviously doesnt have the image.
Weird that its doing it on two different browsers, suggesting it's something local.
