Surely "ta me i ndiaidh" would literally translate "I'm after"
You speak a feckin different language down there!!
I ndiaidh is for being after someone in a queue (or chasing someone), tar eis is for being after in time.
So "thainig Sean, and Maura ina dhiaidh", Sean arrived and after him Maura.
But "Tar eis an bricfeasta, chuamar go dti an cluiche", after breakfast, we went to the match.
