On your Sky account, there is an option to reschedule Engineer visits. Check it a few times a day. All the cancelled install slots just get put back into the pool of available appointments. I've had Sky engineer appointments in the past down from 30 days away to within a week by checking it daily and bringing it forward a few times.

Perfect, will keep an eye out. ta!

Edit - it won't let me reschedule online, phone only!

Oh they must have changed it then. I’ve done it a few times but it was a few years back.

I'll be moving into my new home soon and looking for the right package.

Currently in my parents home, I'm not using Sky and have a friend who sorts me out (you know what I mean) which has all the channels including HD for SkySports and BT, plus he adds TV shows and movies daily which is good but obviously it's not top quality picture and freezes from time to time. What's also good though is they show every PL game, rather than having to stream from my laptop.

So, I'm looking for something that has the usual channels plus SkySports and BT (HD), I'll use the Smart TV for Netflix and watching HD movies. I just need to find out how to watch PL games that won't be broadcasted which my current box does...

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Would love to the answer to this question as well. Can't help, I'm afraid, but would say that if there's any possibility of you holding out for a while then take advantage of any Black Friday deals they may offer. Easier said than done as you'd probably want it sorted asap which leads onto my next thing...

Anyone got any idea on how long the wait list is for a Sky engineer at the moment? Posted something in the hannoy thread a couple of days ago. My upstairs neighbour has got some building work going on and may need to refit my dish. It got taken down by the builders for the scaffolding when I was out at work...hoping when it gets put back up in it's original position that all is ok. They refitted it on the outside of the scaffolding with some extension cabling but haven't got a signal. On Sky Q. If it's gonna be a while I would consider getting it done by an independent contractor to speed things up. My worry is that if I contact Sky first, they say it's gonna take ages and I've disclosed that the dish has been taken down, then I might have to wait a month or two. Alternative would be to skip contacting them and just getting a independent over and stumping up a few quid off my own back and getting it done much quicker without their knowledge.

Shouldn't your neighbour be sorting this out for you? Not to be a prick, but they've messed with your dish.

Yeah, she knows. First thing I did was politely let her know that I'd be billing the builders/council as her landlord for it if I need to get someone out. Will sort it myself though as I just want it back working asap.

Edit: now sorted with a signal with the dish in it's temporary position.

My Sky Q box's hard drive wasnt working so I had to reset the damn thing, which meant I lost all my recordings, the most precious of which was the live TV recordings the day we won the league, CL and the presentation after the Chelsea game :(

Excluding the movies & broadband, I'm paying £73 for everything incl Netflix, Sports and BT sports. It's better than I was going to pay with Virgin but expensive.

I did find that Sky will mislead you on the phone. They told me HD was free then when I went to add BT (which was £16 when I joined but £15 when I went to add it) they said they'd take the £4 HD charge off. It took me 32 minutes of haggling and time wasting to add BT, at one point we'd nearly settled on £74 then the bloke said I'll knock and extra £3 off an call it £73. I said you lot really will spin it won't you, you don't even know when you're telling lies.

Hate them & Virgin mate, just robbing bastards.

Good luck :)

Has anyone got sky q with sky broadband and phone?

We pay a fortune for bt broadband and phone and wondered how much we could save by having everything with sky.

Any tips?

We've got Q full package inc sports and moveis etc (not BT sports) we dont have Netflix or Disney with them. Do have superfast broadband and a phone line (dont have an actual phone in the house). We had a deal at £82 for the last 12 months all in, that jumped to £140+ a month when the deal expired. I went through all the usual chat BS with them, best we can do is £100 etc etc. I cancelled, didnt receive any calls or messages (turns out i had my preferences as dont contact me for anything! haha) changed that and started to get some messages about coming back. Eventually got them down to £81 all in which i was happy with.

We’ve got everything with Sky at the moment. It’s currently £92 a month, up from £83 after the annual price rise and one of the older discounts expiring. That includes Sky Q, UHD, Multiroom, Netflix, Sky & BT Sports, Superfast Broadband & Phone - we don’t have Movies. The Broadband & Phone aspect is £31 a month currently inc the signal guarantee (I do think BT’s broadband is better/stronger, but generally find them even shitter to deal with than Sky).

BT Sports is the one that really causes the problem. Can normally get a decent-ish deal with the Sky packages (I have the movies and sports package) but the second you want BT sports, that messes everything up.

Had to go to BT phone and Broadband to get a good deal but because of that I am still paying upwards of £100.

I used to find that as well, but last time my BT contract ran out I was able to move to Sky and get everything with them for cheaper. Although BT then said they could have done things cheaper themselves so it may be worth playing them off against each other

Just noticed my monthly Sky bill has jumped up, one of the deals I was on has obviously gone back to full rate. Robbing bastards.

Anyway, I’m still on the old Sky box, is it worth switching to Sky Q? Is it easy enough to get it all set up and broadly speaking is it any more expensive to do so?

They will need to come out and fit Sky Q as they need to replace part of the receiver on the dish, it can cost (not sure how much), but depending where you are with your subscription contracts it might be worth calling them to discuss.
Some people find Sky Q a bit more difficult to navigate than Sky+ but you just get used to it after a while, the only thing to be aware of as mentioned on the last page, you can’t transfer anything saved on the Sky+ box to the new Sky Q one.

I'm pretty much looking for a package just like this minus Multiroom, so hopefully can get it down a few quid when I move in next week (fingers crossed!). What's the best way to buy from SKY, online or over the phone?

Certainly the last time I went through renegotiating with them I found you generally got better offers if you went through with the cancellation rather than just threatening it, I got a few offers during the notice period, finally got what I was after 2 or 3 weeks into it

Seems like a great TV for the price. The catch is that obivously you've got to take Sky Services and it doesn't include Freeview etc. Could be used with an Xbox / PS5 too though.

Yeah it’s got 3 x HDMI 2.1

For the price point including full Sky package it’s probably too hard to resist for me, especially since I was in the hunt for a 120Hz TV anyway.

Just checked mine after seeing this and yep gone up £11 this month.

That's £131 for Sky Q and Broadband.  Included is both Sky Sports and BT Sports and Netflix Premium.  Also Sky HD

No movies or multiroom

I’d say if you’re outside of your contract Pete give them a call, they should definitely be able to do better than that. Sometimes worth going onto the website and putting together the package you have/want and seeing how it compares to what you’re paying. But it looks like you’re paying a fair amount more than I am currently for what sounds like a similar package.

I’m paying a bit less than that but don’t have Sky Q. Do have the Movies package but might bin it.

The fuckers are crafty though. All my contracts end at different times, then whenever I do call up to cancel/see about a reduced price they extend a deal here but then it makes it harder to keep on top of them all. I’m definitely paying more than if someone new signed up for the same and they probably count on idiots like me thinking about it once or twice and then forgetting to do anything about it.

Built a package on their website which came to £98 and includes the following: Sky Q, Sky Sports, BT Sport, Ultra HD + HD, Netflix and Sky Broadband Superfast.

Here's the link to view/build your package - https://www.sky.com/deals/tvandbroadband?irct=bns-tp-hero-deals

Is there any way of lowering this?!

I'll give them a call in a week or two and see what I can do!

Just checked mine after seeing this and yep gone up £11 this month.

That's £131 for Sky Q and Broadband.  Included is both Sky Sports and BT Sports and Netflix Premium.  Also Sky HD

No movies or multiroom

Is this good, bad or normal guys?
I pay that much but with movies included.

That does sound expensive to me, although I don't get broadband through Sky (any of the BT Openreach providers are slow for me so I pretty much had to go with Virgin)

They are normally open to haggling on the TV side of things though, I have Sky Q with one multiroom box, Ultra HD, Netflix Premium, Sky Sports, Sky Movies (basically everything apart from BT Sports and the Kids channels) for £50, they started out asking for about £80 for that I think.

If you are going to be haggling with them, its worth digging through the MSE thread on the sort of offers people have been getting recently to get an idea of what might be achievable

Haha. Fuck that. I pay £21 for fibre, £10 for Netflix, £7 for Prime, and stream anything else online via Flixtor etc. Sky are ripping off people.

What’s Netflix premium? Paying extra to Sky?
